Sedona AZ (March 21, 2011) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor:
Hi Everyone,
We will be having a river clean up event at the headwaters near Paulden, Arizona. Space is limited, so please let me know as soon as possible.
See below:
Selena Pao, Verde Restoration Coordinator
The Nature Conservancy/AmeriCorps Volunteer
The Nature Conservancy’s Upper Verde River Clean Up Event — Please join The Nature Conservancy and AmeriCorps in removing debris and garbage from the Upper Verde River!
When: Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Where: Meet at the Safeway in Chino Valley
1031 N. US Hwy 89
Chino Valley, AZ 85323
Description: We will hike the upper 2 miles of the river from the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s access upstream through TNC’s Verde Springs Preserve. This is not a trail – we will have to climb over downed trees and other obstacles as well as cross the river at more than one location. Consider it moderately strenuous.
From the Safeway, we will carpool to the starting point: Please bring a large back pack to put garbage in if you have one, water, sunscreen, a hat and a snack (lunch will be provided).
To sign up and for questions, contact Selena Pao at spao@tnc.org.
