Sedona AZ (May 12, 2015) – It’s back! Enjoy camping at Sunset Park with all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks to camping in the wild. On June 5 and 6, 2015, the City of Sedona Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer the community and its visitors a camping opportunity with food provided, activities planned and restrooms nearby, while surrounded by beautiful red rock views.

So much is included in the small $15 (bring your own tent) or $35 (tent provided) camp out registration fee! Arrive at Sunset Park, 655 Sunset Drive, to set up at 5:00 p.m., then off you go to enjoy the splash park where children will have fun while adults relax in the fresh air.

Frisbees, balls and games will be provided by the Parks and Recreation department and, courtesy of local astronomers, telescopes will be available for star gazing. Spend time around the camp fire with provided hot dogs and s’mores, while being entertained by a local musician playing camp fire songs. The camp out is over at 10:00 Saturday morning, so wake early for the 7:00 a.m. continental breakfast sponsored by the Sedona Elks Lodge before heading home.

This camp out is great for first time campers, as well as seasoned campers who want to be near home. It may be your sole chance to camp in a Sedona park, so don’t miss out. The registration deadline is Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Please contact the Sedona Parks and Recreation department at 928-282-7098 or walk into its 525 Posse Ground Road office to register.
