Coconino County Sheriff's Office Patrol MapFlagstaff AZ (February 4, 2013)  – On Monday, February 4, 2013, at about 11:00 PM, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Grand Canyon Boulevard, approximately five miles south of the Valle Subdivision (Valle is at the intersection of Highways 180 and 64) after a report of a suicidal man with a firearm was received.

As the Deputies drove to the location, a 911 Dispatcher advised them that the reporting party said shots had been fired. As the first Deputy arrived, he heard two additional shots fired from inside the residence.

An adult female, who lives with the suspect, left the house prior to the Deputies’ arrival. The female victim said the suspect was a sixty two year-old male with whom she lived. According to the female victim, the suspect consumed an undetermined amount of alcohol and was armed with a firearm. The man discharged it multiple times while in the residence.

Deputies spoke to the armed subject over the public address system from their patrol vehicles, encouraging the man to exit the residence unarmed. Approximately one hour elapsed before the subject walked out the front door. He was arrested without further incident and was unarmed at the time of his arrest.

Investigators seized three firearms from inside the home.

Officers of the Arizona Department of Public Safety were on scene and assisted in securing the perimeter.

The arrested man was charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct with a Firearm and two counts of Felony Endangerment, all per the Domestic Violence Statute. He was transported to the Coconino County Detention Facility located in Flagstaff, Arizona where he was incarcerated.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and the SedonaEye.com will withhold the arrested suspect’s name, in consideration of the victim’s rights.
