Sedona Verde Valley Firefighter Charities Granted Non-Profit Status

The Sedona-Verde Valley Firefighter Charities (SVVFC) is proud to announce that we have been granted 501(c) (3) non-profit status as of January 2010. Over the past 16 years, SVVFC has raised awareness and funds for multiple charitable organizations on a local, state and national level. These activities have only reiterated the importance and need for the forming our own non-profit organization. Although there are numerous organizations which we currently assist, there are many more that we anticipate assisting in the future. SVVFC will be able to further assist local charities by raising additional funds and awareness through fundraising opportunities and charitable events with this new classification. Some of the current and anticipated beneficiaries of this new organization are the Sedona-Verde Valley Meals on Wheels Program, local food banks and missions, Little League Baseball, AYSO, Youth Football, Holiday Toy Drives, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Foundation for Burns and Trauma, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Verde Valley, Relay for Life associations, and St. Baldricks along with many others.

During the month of March alone SVVFC has donated approximately $3400.00 to local organizations including:
•$500.00 to St Baldricks
•$650.00 to Big Brothers Big Sisters
•$250.00 Little League in Sedona Cottonwood and Camp Verde Little League’s in the Verde Valley ($750.00)
•$500 to Sedona Red Rock , Mingus Union and Camp Verde High School baseball and Softball programs ($1500.00)

Furthermore, SVVFC is planning a local yard sale on March 20th and 21st at Verde Valley Fire District station #31 on Highway 260 in Cottonwood. Proceeds will be raised for the SVVFC non-profit organization, with a portion donated to Tempe Firefighter Skylar Stock that was killed last fall near Camp Verde during a hunting trip. He has left behind a wife and three children and we are looking for a way to assist his family during their time of need. SVVFC will be BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers for all who stop by.

Thank you for your time and assistance in building a stronger community!

Respectfully,

Sedona-Verde Valley Firefighter Charities
