Sedona AZ (May 27, 2013) – Starting May 30, 2013, the Sedona Community Pool is offering new activities for kids during Open Swim hours. The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation has organized Pool Time Extras, two Thursdays each month during the summer for youngsters. The program will begin on May 30 with Pop Quiz Otter Pops, a pool rules quiz that offers a chance to win a free treat. Children’s admission is $2.

The Sedona Community Pool is located behind West Sedona School, 570 Posse Ground Road. For more information about the community pool schedule and programs, visit www.SedonaAZ.gov/Parks or call the Parks and Recreation Department at 928-282-7098.

Sign Up Now for Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People! Your former piano teacher might not approve, but thousands have learned the secret of how to play piano without reading music. If you have ever wondered how it is done, mark Friday, June 14, 2013, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on your calendar. Sedona Parks and Recreation will begin its “How to Play Piano in Three Hours” workshop at the Sedona Teen Center, 525-B Posse Ground Road, Sedona.  Those interested in taking the workshop are welcome to send for a free pamphlet entitled “How To Read Music Notation In Just 30 Minutes!” Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Innovative Keyboard Instruction, 2841 South Southwind Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85295.

Sign Up for Digital Photography (I & II)! Sedona Parks and Recreation and Coconino Community College are partnering to add two non-credit classes to the city’s recreation program, Digital Photography I and II. Digital Photography I will be held on Wednesday, June 12, and Digital Photography II takes place on Wednesday, June 19. Both classes are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Recreation Room at Posse Grounds Park at a cost of $35 per class. Reserve your seat in this class by contacting Coconino Community College at (928) 524-7600.

Sign Up for Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls Classes!  Want professional looking faux painted walls but cannot afford to have it done? It is not as difficult to learn how to do as you may think! Set aside Friday, June 14 and Thursday, July 25, 2013, on your calendar and join Parks and Recreation teacher Linda Coffman’s popular class – Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls.  The class is taught in two sessions: Part One covers the basics of Classic, Tuscan, and Metallic and is scheduled for 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. on June 14; Part Two begins July 25 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and adds to Part One by combining more popular approaches such as Suede, Rustic and Modern.
