  4. Detectives are releasing the following information –

1.Suspect Hewitt has not been located.

    2. The name of the school district associated with the truck door graphic is likely erroneous. Detectives are releasing photos of the truck Hewitt is likely driving. These photos were submitted by law enforcement sources taken previously unrelated to this investigation. Two photos are attached — A photo of the truck’s door displaying school district markings and another photo with a view of the truck’s back end. Again, this is most likely the vehicle Hewitt will be driving, but be aware of anyone matching his description in a similar truck.

    3. The homicide victim has been tentatively identified as 38-year-old Kristina Webb, a resident of Mayer. Hewitt was Webb’s boyfriend and lived with Webb and her 5 year-old-son in the Mayer area. Webb suffered a gunshot wound in the incident. Detectives have not released the exact location of the incident.

    4. The victim’s 5-year-old son was present when Hewitt killed his mother. The child is currently in protective custody.

    5. YCSO has received numerous calls as of today – We continue to encourage those with any information regarding Hewitt’s whereabouts to call 911 immediately.

    6. A homicide warrant has been issued for Hewitt.

    7. Detectives will continue to follow leads throughout the day.

  5. Just before 6 pm Saturday evening, a YCSO deputy located the suspect vehicle in an area off 89a and the Granite Dells Parkway, Prescott – Upon approach, Hewitt was found dead inside the vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound…. Further details will be issued when available –

Sad as this story is every once in a while justice is properly served without spending millions of public tax dollars processing and sustaining convicted killers through the court system. Karma one way or another eventually evens the playing field and in this instance performance was amazingly prompt.

Thanks Sedona Eye for excellent coverage and on target updates.

  7. As reported Saturday evening, a YCSO deputy driving highway 89a spotted the suspect vehicle parked on the Granite Dells Parkway exit in Prescott just before 6PM. Hewitt was found deceased inside the vehicle from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A firearm, likely the murder weapon, was recovered from the vehicle. Forensic analysis is underway to confirm the connection.

    Incident synopsis –

Just after 10:30 am on Friday, October 18, 2013, deputies were called to the 10000 block of Main Street in Mayer regarding a child reporting his mother had been shot. The 5-year-old boy told deputies he had seen “Bill” shoot his mom. She was identified as 38-year-old Kristina Webb.

Deputies learned that “Bill” was in fact 29-year-old William Hewitt and he had just dropped the 5-year-old off at a friend’s home in Mayer before driving away in the Ford truck.

During follow-up, deputies were told that Hewitt was Webb’s boyfriend and they were in the process of moving from Mayer to a home in the Cleator community.

Just before 1:30 PM, deputies found Webb’s body in an area off Antelope Creek Road about ½ mile north of what is known as “Old Cordes,” south of Mayer. Webb had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

An extensive search began for suspect Hewitt throughout the remainder of Friday and into Saturday until he was found on the Granite Dells Parkway off ramp.

Detectives are in the process of determining the location and time of the murder. Motive has not been indicated by detectives as of this writing. Webb’s family has been working with Children Protective Services to insure the victim’s son is getting necessary professional counseling and care.
