Cottonwood Thefts Reported

Cottonwood AZ (June 4, 2012) – The Yavapai County Arizona Sheriff’s office received several reports of automobile burglaries in the Cottonwood area. At this time, it appears an identical suspect or suspects are involved.

Reported burglary incident locations include the 2700 block of Sunset Drive, 3400 block of Tower Drive, 600 block of East Rio Mesa Trail, 1400 block of Hermits Lane, and the 1500 block of Wild Burro Drive in the Verde Village area of Cottonwood. Additional reports are expected as police canvass the neighborhood for witnesses.

In one of the incidents, the suspect(s) damaged vehicle interiors and in another, a convertible car top was sliced. A bicycle was reported stolen from the back of a truck. Cottonwood Police notified YCSO deputies that it recovered the abandoned bicycle during a search of the vicinity.

A majority of the burglaries occurred between the hours of 11:00 PM on June 3, 2012 and 4:00 AM on June 4, 2012.

Citizens with information on these burglaries should contact the Yavapai County Sheriff’s office at 928-771-3260 and or call Yavapai Silent Witness program at 800-932-3232. Silent Witness program callers remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash award if an arrest is made based on the tip.
