Sedona AZ (June 21, 2016) – Not long ago cell phones were used simply to make a phone call when away from home or work. Now, however, smart phones and tablets are utilized in much broader ways: texting, shopping, finding a restaurant, getting driving directions, banking, using social media and more.

“Because wireless connectivity has become an everyday necessity for many families, businesses, first responders and other local government service providers, communities across the country have begun preparing Wireless Master Plans (WMPs), to help guide the development and construction of wireless infrastructure,” said Assistant City Manager Karen Daines.

The city of Sedona has contracted with CityScape Consultants, Inc., to develop a wireless master plan which will identify the most appropriate locations for future siting of wireless infrastructure. The city’s Land Development Code will also be updated to ensure local ordinances comply with federal regulations, but still exercise a city’s limited authority to influence certain aspects of the infrastructure’s placement and appearance.

sedona city architect drawingsA kick-off meeting open to the public is planned for July 13, 2016, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive, Sedona 86336.

A comprehensive approach to wireless development in the city of Sedona will help align the needs of wireless broadband service providers with government and community objectives. This should allow for infrastructure planning and development that will accommodate multiple providers, improve public safety, and help attract and retain residents and businesses.

The kick-off meeting will provide the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and constituents with the necessary information to participate in the plan’s development.

The session will be streamed live on the city’s website www.SedonaAZ.gov and will be recorded for viewing at a later time.

For questions regarding the plan development contact Daines at 928-204-7127 or email KDaines@SedonaAZ.gov.

Once again, elected and paid folks focusing on the unimportant.

They haven’t even completed the traffic or garbage hauling studies and they’re off and running on yet another one. It must be nice to have access to unlimited spending, especially when it’s public money being tossed to the wind. But of course this wireless service if approved will most likely provide service to a broader area than just Sedona. But no one else will help foot the bill. Sound familiar?

The city has worked with cityscape for years and look what we have? Towers looming all through town, radiating the local neighbors with untested, microwave radiation , never measured , and once they go up, never allowed for public comment as they upgrade them (add more and more radition pulsing equipment) without any monitoring for locals health.
You also have additional hidden towers in Yavapai county surrounding the city. Seven Canyons, Enchantment, sedona pines(the big flagpole).

There was a congressional act in 1996 that forbid cities or towns from denying towers based on health or environment.Imaging! Otherwise people would have NEVER allowed them.
The city has almost no input because they never wrote protective ordinances in the early days.
Now articles finally coming to light about microwave radiaition and cancer and they want to make sure a death weapon looks like a tree?

The population(small town, rmember? 10,000 residents) has more than enough cell service, they simply want additional data collection from your smart meters.
The tourists come here for nature and trust me, the politicos sit like deer in the headlights waiting to be told by the carriers what they want with no proven need because they fear getting sued.

Plan to attend that meeting or you may face a tower in your neighbors yard.
1500 megahertz causes cancer. The firehouse in uptown is 1800 megahertz and the firehouse in the chapel topped its roof with metal to offset the eventual illness.

Here is some background info. This contract was signed w/ Cityscape in 2003!!!

The City agreed to the contract back in 2003 BEFORE anyone knew anything about wireless. Also, for what it’s worth, there are miles and miles of fiberoptic cable along I-17 (or underneath) that can be used for broadband.

    1. I just finished listening to a conference call sponsored by The Collaborative on Health and the Environment and discussion by two scientists Drs. Bowman and Wyde http://healthandenvironment.org/
Clarifying EMF and Cancer: Precautionary Occupational Strategies and Results of the NTP Cell Phone Studies
    http://healthandenvironment.org/wg_calls/18482

These conference calls will be ongoing for the next 18 months as ways to train employees exposed to ELF will be explored and I encourage everyone who is able to sign up and listen in. The next call will be 6/29 and you can register on the Health and Environment’s website. For those who may not be aware there have been two successful awards made through Worker’s Compensation for employees who had been exposed to EMF who developed serious health effects as result made. The last award occurred in 2014, I believe, for a nurse with an implanted electrode at a hospital in NYC as a result of health damage incurred by her exposure to the MRI.

Oh thank You who ever you are

You’ve given the Sedona cry baby’s/complainers yet another issue to complain about or yet another conspiracy theory to uncover…..

Yes they were getting a little board complaining about the same things…..I thank you for them

    And the beat goes on……..,.

    Oh come on, Really???

How do you know “The population(small town, rmember? 10,000 residents) has more than enough cell service, they simply want additional data collection from your smart meters.”

We are in the 21st century and tech is running rampart, who are you to say that we have enough???

  9. Be informed of the truth says:

This is a great informational website. The city of Sedona and Cityscape will not be telling you this information.
Please be protective of yourselves and your neighbors.

Want to know how many cell towers/antenna surround where you live? Get on http://www.antennasearch.com and type in your address. Last year, it recommended for safety that your abode be at least 4 miles away. This year, however, it’s somehow okay to be three miles away.

OK, I give up. If Nancy Baer, the queen of wireless says that then I will agree to what ever she says. No one knows more about this topic then Nancy. YOU GO NANCY GIRL!

  13. Thank You Nancy says:

    Thank you Nancy. You rock!!!

  14. @Oh Reilly says:

    STOP.

There are others of us, here in Sedona, that have also researched and uncovered information on wireless radiation.
I researched starting in 2012 for almost two years and it is enough to make you sick just on the information being witheld for the sake of profit and control at the cost of human lives and our youth. I had to slow down because it is so toxic and deceptive that I felt I was going to get physically sick and not recover. I credit Nancy for her continued hard wark. Warren too.
I reached out to different cities and counties in the Verde Valley and Prescott, planning and zoning commissions, mayors, supervisors.
I supplied towns of thier responsibilities and even provided protective ordinances to Camp Verde, Sedona, Cottonwood, Cornville, CLarkdale,Jerome and Yavapai County. They did NOTHING.
Eventually groups of people prevented two towers from going up in Verde Village(60 ft from a 5 year olds bedroom) and Sedona Pines wanting a second tower for whatever reason. Cottonwoods own Mayor Joens allowed one right in the center of town and her only response was, Im surprised you didnt ask it to look like a flagpole instead of a tree(VFW). Pathetic. DO NOT ELECT HER FOR YAVAPAI COUNTY SUPERVISOR……..

Right now, politicians just sit silently because they are too afraid to say no.

It eventually became a victory for me just to place information into the public record showing that they all know thier responsibilities. I did this to aid in future lawsuits and liability when the up and coming adults look at what you have allowed to happen in your chosen ignorence. Some of my letters are in the record but not online so no one knows they are there.

If you could see or smell this radiation outside and all over the inside of your home if you have a smart meter or wireless, you would weep.

Brain cancer is rising exponentially in the children. Some of you already experience the addiction of your kids. Its heartbreaking. Go to you tube and see the films of people all over the world fighting this danger to our earth and I just lost a beautiful 54 year old friend in Folrida to brain cancer, he was such a beautiful man.

So, if you choose to live in ignorance, you are free to do so, no judging, but let the awake work in peace and love. It is not to much to ask to allow people to become informed. See you on the 13th!!!

  15. Alarmed says:

IN ADDITION TO THREE NEW DEMAND CHARGE RATES, APS IS NOW PURSUING APPROVAL OF MANUAL METER READING FEES FOR THOSE WHO OPTED OUT OF SMART METERS!

    June 28, 2016 Regular City Council Meeting, 4:30 p.m., Item 8.b.:
“AB 2131 Discussion/possible direction regarding Docket E-01345A-16-036, the rate case filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission by Arizona Public Service on June 1, 2016.”

“The rate case also proposes implementing new fees meant to recover costs associated with the manual meter reading for those who have opted out of smart meters.”

  16. @Oh Reilly says:

I don’t get it. If you slam anyone on this site people bitch because they don’t agree with the poster. If you SUPPORT someone on this site you still get slammed. WTF!!!

I posted above: “No one knows more about this topic then Nancy. YOU GO NANCY GIRL!” and I get slammed for that/??

This city owes Nancy a lot for standing up and bringing this top to the for front of issues in this city. No other issue is more important to our safety.

I will say it once again and if someone does like it, TAKE A HIKE

YOU GO NANCY GIRL! You ROCK!!

  22. Darryl Z says:

Researchers discovered that the “ultra low frequencies” (ULF) that were being beamed into Medford, Oregon, came from a nearby military base. When the researchers went to the base and met with its commanding officer, they were told the base know about the ULF, but his base was not responsible, the Russians were being allowed to beam Medford with the frequencies.

Additional ULF was also coming into the homes of the populace through their television antennas, which created some sort of standing-wave resonance within the structure of the home itself. These people were severely depressed even if they did not watch TV.
