Chino Valley Meth Lab Busted

pomboSedona AZ (March 12, 2014) – Yesterday, March 11, 2014, just before 5:00 in the evening, detectives from the Partner’s Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) unit served a search warrant in the 1700 block of Tumbleweed Drive, Chino Valley, Arizona. PANT detectives had developed information that the home’s occupant, Darrell Pombo, 55, was involved in manufacturing and the possession of dangerous drugs.

Based on Pombo’s criminal background and prior weapons violations, the YCSO Swat team was deployed to enter and clear the home for investigators. SWAT used a small explosive diversionary device upon entry which may have been overheard by neighbors.

Pombo was found in the home and detained. Due to the possibility of contraband chemicals inside the house, a HazMat team had been assigned to the operation. During a search of the home, detectives discovered several glass methamphetamine pipes, marijuana pipes and used syringes throughout. In a bathroom, detectives located a combination of chemicals and supplies commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. HazMat supervised the removal of the chemicals.

Lastly, three “homemade” firearms, including one with a suppressor attached to the barrel, and a shotgun were recovered. Pombo is a prohibited firearms possessor based on a prior felony conviction.

Pombo was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Manufacture a Dangerous Drug, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, Manufacture Prohibited Weapon, and multiple counts involving Prohibited Possession and Possession of a Deadly Weapon during a Felony.

The investigation is ongoing.

  1. Why does the White House keep saying this is a victimless crime? That drug people don’t need to face harsh punishments? Eric Holder and President Obama and every politician that thinks it is harmless, that the drug people are victims of society, we say to you it is the opposite on both counts. We are their targets, their victims and we don’t feel like it’s not a big deal.

    Thank you.

  2. Society leech!!! One strike he should be out!!!!
