Health Center Thief Wanted by Sheriff

yavapai county sheriff's office logoSedona AZ (September 10, 2015) – On August 28, 2015, YCSO deputies were called to the Black Canyon Community Health Center in the 19000 block of Oasis Drive, Black Canyon City, Arizona, after an employee reported a burglary.

When YCSO deputies arrived, the employee explained finding the back door unlocked and the receptionist area ransacked when she arrived for work at 8:00 a.m. She advised that an envelope with cash and a portable 2′ x 2′ dark grey safe with a digital keypad were also missing.

The exact monetary loss was not disclosed to the media.

It appears the suspect(s) used a rock and smashed out a window adjacent to the front door to gain entry. The burglary occurred sometime after the business was secured and closed at 6:00 p.m. on August 27 and reopened on the morning of August 28.

A YCSO Criminal Investigation Bureau detective is investigating the incident including leads obtained over the last few days. Additional information is still being sought regarding this case.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Todd Swaim at 928-554-8605 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. Callers to Silent Witness are eligible for a cash reward if the tip leads to an arrest.
