Bradley Beauchamp – Candidate U.S. Congress – Arizona CD1 – Republican

SEDONA AZ–“I decided to run because Congress was no longer following the rules of their job,” Republican for Arizona U.S. Congress Congressional District One candidate Bradley Beauchamp said. “They were legislating outside the authority of the Congress or the will of the people. So I decided to run. I know the Constitution better than any other candidate running and I have traveled over 125,000 miles listening to the people of Congressional District 1. We as a nation keep sending the same people to Washington expecting a different result. We send career politicians expecting them to change and asking them to do the will of the people. We send lobbyists expecting them to not have the special interests’ “best interest” in mind. And we routinely send those people to Washington who raise the most money regardless of where the money comes from, which results in candidates buying elections.”

CD1-Republican candidate Beauchamp says he is running on the platform of defending freedom, defending the Constitution and defending the American dream and says that ninety-seven percent (97%) of the money he raised is from the citizens of CD1 in Arizona. Beauchamp adds that he has over a hundred endorsements from citizens in the CD1 District as well as the straw vote of approval from the Yavapai Tea Party. Arizona Congressional candidate Beauchamp says that all the other CD1 candidates raised most of their money and endorsements from outside the District.

Republican Beauchamp believes that the way to create jobs is to get out of control spending in Washington “under control.”  He says that the country needs to reduce government regulation, reduce government taxation, reduce taxes on small business and corporations, and reduce the individual personal income tax. “This makes more money available for the consumer,” said Beauchamp. “It will also provide capital for business to expand and hire, in order to meet the demands of the consumers which will expand, because when the people have more money, they spend more money.”

In terms of trade policy, CD1 candidate Beauchamp would level the playing field. He said, “Our trade policies need to be more favorable to the United States especially the trade policies we have with China. We are currently trading with China at a disadvantage. And these policies need to be reviewed and modified, to bridge the disproportionate gap in U.S and Chinese trade.”

Arizonan Beauchamp said, regarding the Middle East wars, “In the United States, we continually confuse war with nation building and attempt to do both simultaneously.  We need to separate war from nation building. Right now we have our troops occupying Iraq. We won the war and wiped out the enemy and now we are doing nation building in the same mold. It turns our military into a police agency and the difficulty is compounded when dealing with potentially corrupt governments. I get tired of sending our military not to fight a war but to make another country into something like what we are, when that may not be suited to every part of the world.”

Republican Beauchamp stated that he was the only candidate who supported SB1070 prior to its passage by saying, “I supported it (SB1070) before it was popular and I publicly supported it before it was passed, and I continue to support it. The other candidates waited weeks after its passage to publicly support SB1070. They waited until the coast was clear and it was obvious the public supported it. That isn’t leadership, that is being a follower and right now we need leaders in Washington.”

“The biggest question I always get is ‘how am I going to keep from being bought by special interests and lobbyists,’” Arizona Republican CD1 Congressional candidate Beauchamp added. “My answer is that if the people of CD1 don’t get bought, I won’t get bought. The special interests and lobbyists are trying to buy their votes right now. I raised my money from the people of CD1. The big money is trying to buy the people’s vote. If the people refuse to be bought and support a candidate without ties to lobbyists and special interests, then I as their Congressman will honor that trust and refuse to be bought as well.”
