Unsung Hero Bernadette Drouillard

L to R: Michele Stone, Verde Valley Senior Center, Bernadette Drouillard, Supervisor Davis and Bernadette’s daughter, Janet.

Sedona AZ (May 20, 2011)–On May 18, 2011 Bernadette Drouillard was named the Unsung Hero for the month of May on KVRD’s Mark in the Morning show. Yavapai County Supervisor, A.G. (Chip) Davis, presented Bernadette with the award.

Bernadette has been volunteering at the Verde Valley Senior Center in the Dietary Department for more than six years, 5 days a week and 6 hours a day.  Bernadette helps prep and package meals for the Meals on Wheels program, plates up meals for the community dining room and assists with clean up.  Her generosity does not stop at the Senior Center.

In her spare time, Bernadette volunteers at the Clemenceau Museum in Cottonwood, Arizona greeting the guests that come to visit.

Bernadette is hard working and always wears a beautiful smile. She is truly an inspiration to other senior citizens to get up, get out, volunteer and stay active.

By the way, did we mention that Bernadette is only 90 years young? Congratulations, Bernadette Drouillard, Yavapai County’s Unsung Hero for May 2011.
