ADOT Munds Park Bridge Demolition

Pinewood Blvd. closure extended at I-17 in Munds Park for bridge demolition: Detour required to cross I-17.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is reconstructing the bridges and ramps on Interstate 17 at Munds Park , 20 miles south of Flagstaff .  Weather and equipment issues have delayed the demolition of the northbound bridge. The closure of Pinewood Boulevard, which crosses under I-17, has been extended to 7 p.m. Friday, May 20.  This closure provides a safe work zone for crews as they continue to demolish the northbound bridge on I-17.

Motorists who wish to cross I-17 from east to west will be detoured north on I-17 to Willard Springs Road, where they will be directed to exit and reenter the highway heading south to Pinewood Blvd. Motorists who wish to cross I-17 from west to east will be detoured south to Schnebly Hill road, where they will be directed to exit and reenter the highway heading north to Pinewood Blvd.

The speed limit will be reduced in the construction zone. Drivers are reminded to slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
