Suspect Transporting Meth into Yavapai County Arrested

Jeffrey Carter arrested for meth distribution and sales

Phoenix AZ (November 19, 2012)Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking Detectives (P.A.N.T.) have been busy in an effort to stem the flow of drugs into Yavapai County, Arizona. In early November of 2012, PANT detectives developed information regarding a suspect willing to transport quantities of methamphetamine (meth) into Yavapai County. The suspect was eventually identified as 39-year-old Jeffrey Carter from Mesa, Arizona.

During the first week of November, detectives monitored the sale of 1 ounce of meth by Carter at a Black Canyon City location on Coldwater Canyon Road. On November 7, detectives learned Carter would be delivering 3 ounces of meth to the same location.

When Carter arrived on his motorcycle at around 8:30 PM, detectives were present in the area with a search warrant for likely vehicles, including his motorcycle. Although it appeared Carter was intending to flee as uniformed deputies approached, he was quickly detained and held for detectives. Carter had thrown a black bag on the ground as deputies approached, and a search of the bag revealed 3 ounces of meth with an approximate street value of $3600 dollars.

Carter was arrested and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Possession of Dangerous Drug for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs x2, and Use of Electronic Device in a Drug Transaction x2.

Carter remains in-custody on a $75,000 bond. The Harley Davidson motorcycle that Carter was riding was impounded.
