Stolen ATV and Suspect Wanted by YCSO

Sedona AZ (August 30, 2016) – On August 29, 2016, just before 2:00 in the afternoon, an unknown male suspect stole a Polaris Sportsman model ATV from a home in the 4800 block of East Lavin Lane, Rimrock, Arizona. The stolen quad was parked in front of the home, about fifteen feet from its front door with the ignition key in place.

The stolen quad’s description follows: 2004 Polaris 400 Sportsman ATV, green in color with canvas tank bags, gun rack attached to the front rack with a metal drop rack on the back. The last 6 numbers of the VIN are 402707. The quad has an approximate value of $3000.

The victim told YCSO deputies he was inside his home when his dog began to bark. Hearing a noise outside, he went to investigate and saw a male suspect with a tall build ride his quad out of the driveway towards Lavin Lane, turn east and disappear from sight. The suspect accelerated the quad hard as he exited the property.

Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect or the stolen quad. Neighbors helped deputies by describing a thin man wearing a light colored shirt who was driving a quad speeding east on Lavin Lane. Unfortunately, they did not know which direction the suspect took after he reached Forest Glen Road.

    Accountability. This kind of crook is likely on meth & dangerous to society so do more than slap his wrists. Make him pay for the value of the quad like he had to rent it from a local business, slap a late fee on, slap a penalty on, and more penalities and make the man have to get a job and send his paychecks to the victim until court costs are paid up. Try & be accountable.
