Sedona AZ (September 10, 2013) – After nine months of being open to the public, the Sedona Wetlands Preserve is now ready for its grand opening celebration. On Friday, September 27, 2013, activities will provide guests an understanding of the facility’s unique contributions in the water cycle purification process and the role it provides concerning animal habitat.
The Sedona Wetlands Preserve is in front of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Arizona SR 89A. This event is open to the public, but carpooling is strongly urged as parking is limited on-site.
To kick off the celebration at 9:00 a.m., there will be a guided birding tour led by local birding experts and volunteer supporters of the Preserve. At 10:00 a.m., speeches will commence and those involved in the project will be recognized. Following at 10:30 a.m., there will be a facilities tour for those wishing to learn more about the Preserve water project.
The Preserve is open from dawn to dusk seven days a week and houses such recreational amenities as restrooms, picnic tables with shade, and walking paths around the ponds. The City of Sedona invites all to visit and learn more about this unique sewage treatment facility.

Please please let this be a “charge for admittance” venue. Or is it still only Sedona city limit residents who are expected to foot the bill for stuff like adequate drainage while the masses of the Verde valley and the world for that matter (destination tourists) continue to get the free ride?
