Sedona Fire Department in action

Sedona AZ (March 17, 2014) – Extensive damage to a Sedona Village of Oak Creek home was caused by a fire which likely began in its attached garage. The Sedona Fire Department VOC station responded within minutes of receiving the 6:49 evening call to the home on Cascabell Court.

Neighbors as far away as a mile reported hearing explosions and the west side of the village was blanketed by a plume of black smoke driven by a mild breeze.

The Sedona Fire Department battled the blaze for more than an hour and the quick response time enabled the department to bring the fire under control before it spread to surrounding properties.

The slightly more than 1800 square foot stucco home was built in 1999.

The SFD will investigate the fire origin and updates will be provided as known. Special appreciation to Adelaide Sherman for additional on site reporting.
