Sedona SR89A Lights Will Remain on 24 Hours a Day

Sedona Arizona SR 89A Construction Update

Sedona AZ (October 11, 2012) – The Arizona Department of Transportation is currently testing the new roadway lighting fixtures along State Route 89A in Sedona, requiring the lights to be on continuously 24-hours per day.

It is unclear how long the testing will take.

ADOT is also completing the timing of the new traffic signal at Andante Road. The signal will be synchronized with the other traffic signals along SR 89A.

These tasks are the final phases of the safety improvement project that began in February. The $4.3 million project included paving of more than three miles of SR 89A from PiƱon Drive to just west of State Route 179, a new traffic signal at Andante Drive, and roadway lighting from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at AZ511.gov or follow SR 89A Sedona Construction updates on SedonaEye.com.
