Sedona Heritage Museum Living History

Frieda Eswonia is a member of the Yavapai tribe and comes from the Clarkdale Indian Reservation Russell Family.

Sedona AZ (September 25, 2014) – The Sedona Heritage Museum is hosting the next in its Living History Speaker Series on Wednesday, October 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the museum.

Frieda Ann Eswonia will be the guest speaker. She is a proud member of the Yavapai Tribe and comes from the Russell Family of the Clarkdale Indian Reservation. She will speak about the uniqueness of the Yavapai people, separate from the Apache with whom they share a reservation. She will also cover her tribe’s history and challenges for the future.

Frieda has been recognized as a cultural preservationist by the Arizona Indian Living Treasures Awards (AILTA). AILTA exists to honor the cultures of Arizona Native American tribes.

This is a free event and open to the public.

Every year, the Sedona Heritage Museum presents a series of Living History talks. Speakers include descendants of pioneers, long-time residents with historical stories to share or other story-tellers about history. The museum is located at 735 Jordan Road in Jordan Historical Park, uptown Sedona, and is open daily 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
