Sedona Eye Talk Back: The New Passive Aggressive Politics of the Democrats

democrat donkeySedona AZ (August 2, 2016) – Love, Gratitude and Blessings: The New Passive Aggressive Politics of The “Democrat” Party.

Hello, I’m Paul Heiselman and this is my Talk Back:

Notice how I put Democrat in quotes when I refer to the Democratic Party? Due to recent events involving the Party, I do not believe they deserve to be called the “Democratic” party any longer. And I am not going to rail about the fraudulent propaganda, the election rigging, the usury and exploitation of both American and immigrant minorities, etc. I believe plenty has been written about that already (that is…IF… you could find it anywhere easily on the internet since the Google search engine has been using algorithms to show only positive search page results for Hillary Clinton, and negative results only for anything Trump).

As evidenced on full display at last weeks Democrat National Convention, I was sickened by the new oppression they have adopted; the use of the terms “love”, “gratitude” and “blessings” to appeal to a “positive” emotional triggering, while ignoring real problems, people, and any commentary that is deemed as “negative” – and doing so with smiles and sarcasm and obvious lies. I thought this was a phenomenon of the New Age so prominent in Sedona, and within fringe elements amongst our society. Boy, was I caught by surprise. This has become part of the mainstream, and it’s extremely dangerous in the most deceptive of ways.

Bill Clinton PresidentLove is so positive, right? I do believe love is the most important emotion for a happy existence. People need to love and be loved and its an intrinsic part of being human. Unfortunately, anyone who doesn’t agree with the political, social or spiritual position of these folks is hated in the next breath which makes sense since love and hate are a duality of opposites. If you love that much in such an unbalanced way, I guarantee that these same people, in their un-balance, hate just as much.

If anyone would like to test this, go into Java Love or  Whole Foods in Sedona with a Make America Great t-shirt and see what happens. I promise you will be attacked ruthlessly, and people will cheer it on, and irrational hatred will spew out of their mouths.

I see no graciousness from these folks for what they have. They want free education, free healthcare, free and open borders, $15 an hour that small businesses just cannot afford in this prolonged recession, and they want everyone else to pay for it, including me, a poor white man, just because of my “white privilege”, which I have never experienced in my middle-aged life. And they don’t want to work for it. In today’s America, my experience has been that hard work gets you nowhere but exploited anymore, yet, if you backstab people, misrepresent or lie about them with a smile and some sarcasm, you will be rewarded.

Hillary ClintonAnd blessings? Who says you are blessed? Who are you to bless me? I cringe when some Sedonans bless you or tag all their social media with “Blessings.” I’m sorry, but it is just another way to impose your religious or spiritual beliefs on the rest of us. The most sordid individuals can bless you, and that just makes my skin crawl; for all I know you sacrifice living things to Satan. I am not a Christian nor a Buddhist, and I have the same issue with a priest or monk blessing me. Please stop blessing everyone and everything like you are passing out cheap cigars in a maternity waiting room.

In fact, the vomiting of “love”, “gratitude” and “blessings” everywhere has cheapened all of these words meanings. After living in Sedona for five years and now witnessing what I did last week during the DNC, these terms mean next to nothing anymore. The clear message I am now getting is this – anyone tossing about these terms while sticking their heads in the sand like an ostrich, ignoring the real problems and the real pain of Americans who do not agree with them, cannot be trusted.

An ostrich can stick its head in the sand to hide in its own mind all it wants, but the rest of the ostrich is in plain sight, just like you are.

Paul Heiselman, like many Sedonans, visited and stayed and has lots of opinions. He knows only that he hates the thought of moving back to Orange County or New York so will stay here, in Uptown, at least for now. This is his opine, at least for now. He may have more.

    @ Paul Heiselman,

Paul, after “the greatest generation” has come “the scorched earth generation.” In his best-selling book “The Greatest Generation,” Tom Brokaw profiled Baby Boomers’ parents’ generation, which he described as “American citizen heroes, who came of age during The Great Depression and World War Two … united by common values – duty, honor, economy, courage, service, love of family and country.” In their youth, Boomers, who were born between the mid-1940s and the mid 1960s, stated loudly that they wanted to be nothing like their parents before them. And, they succeeded! Why? Because of the blow-back from the current indoctrinated “entitled” generations they’ve produced…entitled, without having sacrificed anything for our country, to government taxpayer paid welfare benefits, to a guaranteed high-paying career while having no experience, to low-cost or no-cost housing, and to a useless debt-financed progressive liberal education curriculum as well as the right to scream about every conceivable micro-aggression they believe they’ve had to endure as as result of every violation imaginable of their own self-defined political correctness agenda. Yes, this is the majority of the U.S. electorate today and this malady widely infects and paralyzes both political parties!

Based upon all these precepts, most of you will vote for a Presidential candidate while actually believing that you have a choice.

These comments will be used in an upcoming article here at The Eye.

Don’t like Democrats bashing their my candidates, I hear many saying they’ll vote for Trump and it’s disturbing.

  3. Dan says:

Possibly the best damn article I’ve read in the 8 years I’ve lived here. Spot on Sir! Thank you!

  4. Eddie Maddock says:

Oh my goodness – where to begin? First let it be of record that my voter registration card states very clearly at the party identification affiliation: NONE. Translated that means not a Democratic, not a Republican, and not an Independent.

Agreeing with Dan’s comment, I must add the one thing missing from all the “love, gratitude, and devotion” is the most popular trend among the chosen few:

    POLITICALLY CORRECT.

How in the Spiritual Being’s world did we all survive without this profound educational revelation?

Superb writing, indeed, and cannot wait for the reaction from the worldly contributions of devoted followers on the Sedona Eye.

  6. your search engine is programmed to serve up what you search for. so, you see what you look for. says:

Not a great article. I’m not a woowoo ran ran type. I just have critical thinking skills. Not seeing any here.

  7. I See Through You says:

To: your search engine is programmed

You have critical thinking skills? Really? It’s rather clear that you meant that you have criticized thinking skills.

  8. JJ says:

The republicans have been in the drivers seat and things have only gotten worse. The biggest problem is the big money in politics. Unregulated super pacs. Republican majorities.
248 House Seats out of 400
54 out of 100 Senate seats
    31 out of 50 Governors
70 out of 99 Legislative Chambers
5 out of 9 Supreme Court justices- Before the death of Anthony Scalia
Tax and spend is the rule of thumb. The City of Sedona is no exception. These City Councilors have all but destroyed Sedona. Jessica Williams is in need of mental help. John Thompson needs mental help. John Martinez admits the City spends more than it takes in. Thus the reason for the trash takeover. And bed tax. More revenue for the city. Never heard of cutting spending. Tom Lamkin is a yes man. Sandy Moriarty is in need of mental help. No better than Rob Adams. Very destructive and very sick. The city gifts over 3 million dollars of unregulated dollars to special interest groups. 2.2 million to the sedona chamber of commerce. The town of sedona is shrinking with a population of 9000. This is insanity. The lies go on and on. Where are the RFPs promised? Where are the audits promised? No City gifts millions of dollars to their chamber of commerce, even Scottsdale. In direct violation of senate bill 1487 the Sedona city council made it a law that the Chamber of commerce receives annually over 2 million dollars of unregulated public money. All of lodging did not get a vote. Some in the industry did not even know this was even on the table. This was a well planned out scam. People were strong armed into going along with it for fear of being black balled by the Steve Segner, lodging council, and the chamber of commerce.
Write City Council and tell them to change the council meetings times back to the evenings so everyone can participate, even the working people. This change was a systematic way of gaining control of our city. Let them know you have had enough.

I for one will only be voting for the new people running for City Council. The premise that voting for incumbents because one is more destructive than another is ludicrous. Sick and tired of being lied to. SB 1487 will cut off funding from the state. Everyone should write to Senator Allen and let her know of the violations occurring in Sedona. Some are even criminal.
