Information Forms, after July 11, 2012, as a basis for requesting Statements of Qualifications for design of AAA Industrial Park Storm Drain Outfall. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the existing drainage facilities to 25-year drainage capacity per the City’s existing Storm Drainage Master Plan. It is anticipated that the project will require preparation of construction documents and engineer’s cost estimate, as well as interaction with private property owners, regulatory agencies, and the US Forest Service. Parties interested in being considered during the review are requested to submit a completed FY 2012/2013 Consultant Information Form, if they have not submitted one already. Submit forms by July 10, 2012.

The ideal candidate will supervise, assign, and review the work of staff responsible for the daily operations of the City wastewater treatment facility; oversee and participate in all work activities; and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. This person must have the ability to work in organized team efforts and assist in problem solving work related issues. Must have good mechanical skills and at least a Grade III Arizona Wastewater Plant Operator Certificate. Weekend and on-call work will be required. When on-call, must be able to respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes.

The ideal candidate will perform testing, chemical analysis, and semi skilled labor in the maintenance, operation, repair and related service activities for the City wastewater facilities; assist the Wastewater Superintendent in maintaining the operational efficiency of wastewater systems and facilities and to perform a variety of related duties as assigned. Requires four years of increasingly responsible experience in a chemistry, microbiology, bacteriology, or related field and laboratory analysis. Laboratory background with previous experience in operating and maintaining wastewater/water treatment systems is desirable. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry, biology environmental engineering or a related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Grade II wastewater treatment certificate, Grade II collection certificate, and Grade III wastewater certification. Weekend work may be required.

The City of Sedona is seeking two Associate Engineers to manage storm drain and wastewater capital projects.

These positions perform a variety of technical and professional work within the context of the programs and activities of the Public Works Department; and provides highly skilled project development, design review, and project management support to the Public Works Engineers, of higher classification, as determined and directed by the Public Works Director/City Engineer.

Qualifications include four years of increasingly responsible experience in civil engineering; a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in civil engineering, or a related field; possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid driver’s license, and a Professional Civil Engineer registration is highly desirable but not required; however an EIT is required.     Applications are being accepted for a vacancy on the Pima County Superior Court created when Judge Clark W. Munger retires on July 31, 2012. The Pima County Commission on Trial Court Appointments will review applications, interview selected applicants and recommend at least three nominees for the vacancy to Governor Jan Brewer, who will appoint the new judge.

    Applicants must be at least 30 years old, admitted to practice law in, and a resident of, Arizona for the past five years, and a resident of Pima County for the past year.

  2. The Navajo Nation Employment Preference will be in effect for 25 vacant Navajo Nation positions currently available and hiring is underway for the Department of Corrections Navajo Nation three new correction department facilities:

    Manager Delores Greyeyes said facilities will be in Crownpoint (48 beds scheduled for completion November 2012), Fort Defiance and Shiprock. The Tuba City facility (132 beds) is scheduled for completion in November 2012 and operative by February 2013. The Chinle teams are being hired now.

    Requirements are high school diploma, year of security work experience, and during first year of employment attendance at the 6-8 week Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Artesia, New Mexico is required.   3. The City of Sedona is Seeking Classroom Artists

    The City of Sedona Arts and Culture Commission is seeking talented and kid-oriented artists to join the Artist-in-the-Classroom Program to bring art into local schools. This program assists with bringing artists to work in the classroom with students ranging from Kindergarten to high school during the 2012-2013 academic school year.

    The program is seeking a wide-range of artists and encourages any individuals who specialize in music, sculpture, theatre, origami, fine art, literary, math, science or other art related topics to apply.

    Classroom artists meet with a specific teacher and together they plan and present art integrated projects to include art in the classroom on a daily, monthly, or quarterly basis.

    The art lessons are teacher driven and are designed specifically for each individual classroom with the purpose of enhancing the curriculum, encouraging creative thinking, problem solving skills, and art exploration. Artists are reimbursed for classroom materials and paid $25 per hour upon preliminary approval of the lesson(s) by the Art Education Coordinator.
