Proposition 400 Direct Election of Mayor Forum

league of women voters lwvSedona AZ (February 5, 2010) – The League of Women Voters of Sedona Verde Valley will present a Pro and Con Discussion of Proposition 400 for the City of Sedona voters.

Proposition 400 – confused?  Not sure which way to vote?

The League of Women Voters Sedona-Verde Valley is holding a forum on this important ballot measure on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Sedona Community Center, 2615 Melody Lane, Sedona Arizona 86336.

Come hear a concise and clear presentation on Proposition 400 from the League of Women Voters, hear comments from the supporters and opponents of this proposition, and be able to ask your questions about this proposition.

Proposition 400 is on the March 9, 2010 Primary and Special Mail Ballot Election.

Proposition 400 is officially titled – Repeal of the Direct Election of the Mayor.  The ballot proposition is seeking voter approval to allow the selection of the mayor by and from members of the Sedona City Council.

Sandra Goodwin, past president of the League of Women Voters Central Yavapai County will be moderating the forum.

The speaker in support of this proposition is Anita McFarlane and the speaker in opposition to this proposition is Ernie Strauch.

Election ballots will be sent out first class mail to all registered voters in Sedona beginning the week of February 15, 2010.

Ballots can be returned by mail and or handed delivered to the Sedona City Clerk, 102 Roadrunner Road, Sedona, or dropped off in the Yavapai County Early Ballot Drop Off Box located in the Sedona City Hall parking lot.

Completed ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on Election Day, March 9, 2010.
