Members Appointed to Sedona Budget Oversight Commission

Sedona AZ (December 13, 2012) – On November 13, 2012, the Sedona City Council appointed Louis Harper to fill a vacancy on the Budget Oversight Commission. The seat is for a two-year term, ending October 31, 2014.

 

At the December 11, 2012 Sedona City Council meeting, the Sedona City Council re-appointed Ronald Budnick, Larry Pack and Steve Segner to their seats which expired November 1, 2012. Their seats are for a two-year term, ending November 30, 2014.

 

The Budget Oversight Commission assists the City of Sedona in preparing the five-year capital plan and annual budget. The commission is solely advisory to the City Council but plays a key role in providing important public input on budget policy, including revenue recommendations, capital planning processes and prioritization for continuation or elimination of programming and services in order to maintain a balanced budget.

    The City has limited financial resources and projects galore on its Capital Improvement Plan.

    According to Commissioner Segner at the 12-12-12 Budget Oversight Commission meeting, AKA the Budget Outtasight Commission, the City needs to look more to the people who live here to pay more taxes. A food tax was one idea he mentioned.
