Sedona AZ (March 19, 2016) – Thursdays have gone to the dogs, says SedonaEye.com Four Paws Up Star Pet Columnist Harley McGuire! The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department has moved Yappy Hour to a summer schedule, now every Thursday from 8:00 until 9:00 a.m. until further notice. This weekly social hour for friendly dogs and their owners is held on the grass of the multi-use field at Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Road, west Sedona.
Under normal circumstances, city code and park rules require all dogs to be on a leash and to remain off the athletic fields at the park. But during this event, dogs will be allowed off leash. Harley McGuire points out an important tip to remember and share with his pals owners is that every owner “must pick up after their pets!” Also, only off leash dogs are allowed for this event and, if there is an increase in off leash users on the athletic fields during nonevent times, it would cause the Yappy Hour events to be canceled.

Harley McGuire says please note that the Posse Grounds Park multi-use field is not a dog park and there is no division of small versus large dog areas. Also, gaps are in the fence so pals could potentially squeeze through. Owners are solely responsible for the safety and behavior of their dogs.

Sedona City Hall is open for business Monday through Thursday from 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening and closed on Fridays. The Municipal Court and Wastewater system maintenance remain on a Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. schedule.
Police and maintenance services are not impacted.

Thanks my friends – nice to hear from you, Buster and “Claudine & Samson the handsome.” It’s hard to say if Mom will take me to the happy Yappy Hour ‘cuz mostly we go out to the VOC Kiwanis Park later in the day – but she says “We’ll see” so maybe there’s hope. If so, see ya’ on the green stuff.
