Harley McGuire and pals think Yappy Hour at Posse Grounds Park gets a Four Paws Up salute!

Sedona AZ (July 13, 2015) – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation department is hosting a weekly social hour for friendly dogs and their owners, reports Harley McGuire, SedonaEye.com Star Four Paws Up Pet Columnist.

Come for Yappy Hour on the cool grass of the multi-use field at Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Road, west Sedona. This weekly event suitable for Harley McGuire and all Four Paws Up pals will be hosted every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. starting July 23 until October 29, 2015.

Yappy Hour is a trial run weekly event. Under normal circumstances, city code and park rules require all dogs to be on a leash and to remain off the athletic fields at the park. But during this special event, dogs will be allowed off leash.

Please note that Posse Grounds Park is not a dog park and there is no division of small versus large dog areas. Also, gaps are in the fence where a pet could potentially squeeze through! Owners are responsible for the safety and behavior of their dogs, reminds Harley McGuire and the City Parks and Recreation department.

For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 928-282-7098 or email Recreation & Aquatic Supervisor Santy Villarico at SVillarico@SedonaAZ.gov.

Hi Harley, it’s Me Sobe, Your black and white friend in the picture. Good news, Mom says We can go!!

We have to take My little sister to the dog park earlier everyday so She can run off all that energy, but We have to leave when it starts getting ‘Hot’. The thought of cooling My tummy on the grass afterwards sounds Wonderful. I’ll see You there.

Now I have a question for You, is Your buddy Inoch a flat-coat retriever? Because He looks just like My little sister, except He doesn’t look crazy/silly like She does.

  2. Hi Sobe, didn’t hear from you for ages and ages, and it jus’ wunderful you got yourself a little sistah. And what is her name?
Seems to me Inoch is one of them black labbies, but can’t say fer sure. If I’m wrong ’bout that hope old Inoch will set me straight.
Not good news ‘cuz we can’t make it to the big event tomorrow morning (Thursday) at least this week. That’s the day our big killer man is set to show up at that exact time. But hopefully next week we will check it out. Sounds like FUN!

    Lovingly,
    Harley McGuire

Hi Ya Harley, I’m Sobe’s little sister Raven, I can’t wait to meet you because you’re such a celebrity, and I love new dogs and people and everybody can we be friends (breath) mom named me Raven because I spent the first months of my life hanging out with the ravens in utah scavenging for food on the cattle ranches, I love cows too.

Not to worry about the big killer man coming tomorrow because the Yappy day starts next week, I just can’t wait and think I’ll get a second wind after the dog park. Is the killer man going to kill bugs, does your mom let you eat bugs, mine doesn’t but I sneak a few when she’s not looking but don’t eat red ants YUCK!

  4. Oh, Raven (luv that name) I is so excited to know the event starts next week. (should have knew that but the bug killer man throwed me into a tizzy) Ya see, we needs him so’s I don’t git bit by another black widdow or brown recluse (them’s spiders and one or t’other got me good a coupla years ago).

Anyways, welcome aboard and it sounds like you might be related to a kitty kat and already spent one lifetime in that Utah place. We don’t got cows in Sedona anymore but Mom said they roamed the neighborhood reglarly when she moved here at least 100 years ago.

Looking forward to hookin’ up, Raven (luv that name).

    Lovingly,
    Harley McGuire

Sounds like it would be fun and I like to run off leash but somtimes I get a litle overwhelmed with so many unfamiliar dogs at one time, so I told Mom I’d rather just stick to my routine on the leash. She takes me to Sunset Park and I get to run on the grassnd that makes me happy.
So I guess I’ll just see ya around the hood.
