Future of Rooftop Solar Jeopardized

Sedona AZ (August 12, 2015) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor:

Dear Sedona,

Solar panels

Solar panels

Thank you for all your have done this year urging the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) to stick to their word about solar rates. Together, solar advocates like you have sent in over 700 comments and letters. Next week, we have a chance to see whether justice will be served at the ACC.

Join TUSK for the BIG VOTE on the future of rooftop solar on August 18, at 10 a.m. to stand for energy choice and proper procedure.

Arizona utilities are hellbent on ending net metering—taking solar power from ratepayers’ homes without paying a fair price. APS wants to ram through a more than 400% increase in its solar tax in an abbreviated forum, outside of a full rate case where all other rates and charges are considered. An Administrative Law Judge said that this isn’t right. The ACC will vote on August 18th to either join the judge and tell APS no way, or to bow to the wishes of this monopoly and let them turn the screws on solar ratepayers.

TUSK logoThat’s why it’s so important to show up at the next week’s vote and let the Corporation Commissioners know that we won’t give up on solar energy!

Can we count on you to show up for the vote on August 18th?

Keep up the good fight,

TUSK Arizona
