  1. Gary Chamberlain, Mayor Folksville says:

    To anyone interested,

I’m traveling to the Glenn Beck rally in Washington DC August. I will be traveling (driving a car) for 3 months seeing family in Oregon, driving to WA DC, to Kentucky, Kentucky to military reunion (Americal Division), Branston, MO (Military reunion, B Troop 1/1 CAV) and back to Arizona.

I will be distributing the Folksville, USA business cards which as you may know states “Restore the beauty to America the Beautiful” which is a program to push back against those who illegally dump litter on our highways.

If you know anyone who would be willing to help finance 7,000 cards at a cost of $175 plus tax please let me know as soon as possible. I need these cards for my road trip. Please mail your donation to Mayor of Folksville, PO Box 1138, Cornville, AZ 86325. If you notify me by e-mail as to your donation and amount, I will know when I have enough funding to order the card.

Any funding pledged in excess of this $200 +/- will be given to a home for autistic adults in Cornville, AZ to support their “Recycle trash for cash” effort. Rusty’s Morningstar Ranch, the home for these autistic men can be seen at http://www.rmr.org. They have agreed to receive all of the bags of highway litter collected by our Adopt-A-Highway Permittees and separate out the contents; trash and recyclables. They will donate the recyclables to Sedona Recycles and dispose of the trash using a dumpster provided by Taylor & Son’s in Cottonwood, AZ.

Please review our Folksville USA stories on this web site as we chronicle our community movement to recover and recycle illegally dumped highway litter.

  2. You can recycle 24 hours a day at any of our 13 free drop-off sites throughout the Verde Valley.

To find a drop-off site near you, visit http://www.sedonarecycles.org.

We recycle cardboard, paper, plastics #1-#7, aluminum & steel cans, glass, electronics, batteries, clothes, ink & toner cartridges, books, packing materials, egg cartons, and more!

  3. We know how hard it can be to get rid of the items hiding in garages, sheds, and closets across the Verde Valley.

That’s why we developed the A-Z Reuse and Disposal Guide on our website.

This directory tells you where to recycle, reuse, or dispose of everything ranging from compact fluorescent light bulbs to wine corks to motor oil.

If you can’t find the item you’re looking for, you can always give us a call at 204-1185. We’re here to help find solutions for your waste disposal dilemmas.

This month, Cliff Castle Casino became one of the largest business recyclers in the Verde Valley. After years of trying to start a successful recycling program, the stars finally aligned to make this dream a reality.
