16th Story, Highlights of 2009 & First Quarter 2010

 

The “Original 8, Road Warriors, Culture Warriors and CSI” participants organize: Beth Cady, Diane Gallager, Cyndi Chervenyak, Patrica McQuade, Vallarie Moore, Greg Penrod, Rick Baldauf and Gary Chamberlain.

 Whose community spirit and dedication to the greater public good established and instituted Folksville USA, a citizens volunteer activist group devoted to beautifying Arizona and America’s byways and highways!

  2. CSI orders 13,000 message and contact cards for public distribution.

3. The “Original 6 Road Warriors, Culture Warriors and CSI” participants and Recyclers from Lower Oak Creek (LOCE) a.k.a Skunk Hollow form: Carole Lamb-Jean, Connie Morgan, Charlene Van Allen, Johnnie Wilson, Jim Jean and Ed Helgeson of Cornville.

 

4. Local & out-of-state businesses provide $8,000 raffle prizes!

 

5. 2009 (581) bags of litter between Cottonwood to Sedona are collected.

 

6. 2010 bag count through 1st Quarter 2010:. Cottonwood to Sedona (Hwy 89A) 88+21 bags and Cottonwood to Camp Verde (Hwy 260) 45 bags!

 

7. Randall’s Restaurant becomes location of “Folksville Town Hall”

 

8. Folksville USA First census, Population 811.

 

9. Folksville Newsletter established.

 

10. Interesting Finds:  $100 in cash/$1,000 savings bond/$10 in cash/and one handgun

 

11. Others following Folksville USA news: Oregon, New Mexico, US Army

 

12. Cottonwood LDS Scout Troop #7021. $515 in donations and Gun found

 

13. 4 collections per year by Flame Propane & Enchantment Resort saves ADOT Highway Maintenance Department time and money!

 

14. Latin America Center added to Scenic Highway 89A.

 

15. Web page in process of development.

 

16. ADOT Highway Maintenance Department cooperates with Folksville USA!

 

17. New and improved relationship: ADOT AAH Permittee’s/Tire stores/Rusty’s MSR/businesses working together.
