Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Area Commands

Sedona AZ (June 22, 2013) – Yavapai County Sheriff Scott Mascher and his Command team, along with Tony Sciacca’s Doce Fire Incident Management Team, are pleased to announce the evacuation order has been lifted along the Williamson Valley corridor as of 5 PM today.

This order pertains to RESIDENTS ONLY:   The checkpoints will remain in place and residents must show proof of address to gain entry. Community areas included in the rescinded evacuation are American Ranch, Sundown Acres, Cielo Grande, Stazenski Road residence access, and Mint Creek Ranch.

Checkpoints will likely be lifted late tomorrow, Sunday, June 23.

Residents should expect to receive a post fire evacuation package with helpful suggestions regarding health and safety issues including electrical awareness, food spoilage, effects of fire retardant if applicable, and flood concerns, etc.

Evacuations remain in place for Granite Basin, Alto Recreation Area, Blackjack and Camp Anytown.

Road closures in the area that remain in effect include Granite Basin Lake, Blackjack, and Contreras Road at Tonto Road.

Residents returning to their homes are urged to be cautious; firefighters and apparatus will continue to be in the area.

The Doce Fire is currently 40% contained, but heat still remains on the fire perimeter with potential to flare up. Crews are continuing to build a line on the west flank around the north end of the fire.

The Prescott National Forest emergency fire closure and Stage II fire restrictions remain in place.

A community meeting will be held Sunday, June 23, at 6 PM at the Ruth Street Theater, Prescott High School, Prescott, Arizona.

Citizens can contact the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office with information or questions at 928-771-3260 or the YCSO website: www.ycsoaz.gov.
