Dear Editor: Our Annual Lodging Council Meeting

is Tuesday, August 3rd, 1:00 p.m. at the Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa.

We have a very exciting and informative meeting planned for this year. Our keynote speaker is Debbie Johnson, President and CEO of the AZ Hotel & Lodging Association, who will enlighten us on Arizona’s hotelier position regarding the controversial immigration law, SB1070, which is slated to become effective this Thursday, July 29th. Debbie Johnson has been instrumental in getting our position out, nationally, about this proposed law and Ms. Johnson’s presentation promises to provide up-to-date news that should be of timely value to the entire Sedona lodging community and the community at large.

We are pleased to say that our invitation to the meeting has been accepted by, among others, Mayor Rob Adams, City Manager Tim Ernster, the new Chief of Police, Raymond Cota and four City Counselors, Messrs. McElroy, Rayner, DiNunzio and Hamilton.

We are also looking forward to a capsulated State of the Union (State of the City?) by Jennifer Wesselhoff and her staff from our Chamber of Commerce.

Mark your calendars and join your Board of Directors. We hope to see you all there on August 3rd at 1 p.m., it promises to be a very informative meeting.

Sincerely,
Michael Steinhart
Board of Directors, Sedona Lodging Council and General Manager, Poco Diablo Resort

  1. Mac, Les Springs says:

what is the position of the AZ hotel industry? do they support obeying the law or do they advantage themselves financially of the illegal labor pool?
