Dear Editor: Don’t Pay ILX-Diamond Resort Fees

Letter to ST Editor:

Time constraints denied my posting of this comment under the article “Diamond Resorts Assumes ILX Sedona & VOC” (on line 09/05/10). Therefore the reason for me to exercise the option to take this route to address a comment made by  Bob Northrup relating to whom he should remit payment for billed services.

If it were me, Bob, I would not pay ANY future maintenance fees to the Premiere Vacation Club (ILX) or any other entity. In fact, I would demand to know exactly what unit number and week I own. When ILX is unable to provide me with that information, I would demand a refund of my purchase price plus interest.

Best regards,

Jimmy Harrington

Hello Everyone for your interest in me and best wishes for the New Year!

I am a Canadian who has paid ALL to date….now I realize the problem with bankruptcy and why ILX states not what they promised…but instead of a solution I am being sucked in with more costs ILX+Diamond resorts “upgrade” = more costs!

Worst is I can’t get through (email) to anybody about my concerns.

Please let me know if you could help me. Is there a state official I could address?

    Many thanks,

    Rocco Iafigliola

Rocco, it’s interesting that this should resurface after all this time. Have you considered filing a complaint with the Arizona Dept. of Real Estate or the Office of the Coconino County Attorney . . . or even with the Arizona State Attorney General? In any event, do you really think it would be wise to invest even one more penny for future maintenance fees or other “one time” fees they dream up without first obtaining some advice from the sources I’m mentioning? Maybe others out there walking in similar shoes have further suggestions. Good luck to you, Sir.

    Rocco,

You might want to check into this website that is being used by time share owners. Have seen several entries dealing with Diamond/ILX. As they say, there is strength in numbers…
