Cookie Dough Recall Hits 26 States

conagra 1Sedona AZ (August 26, 2013) – The United States Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall of ConAgra Foods Kroger brand chocolate chip cookie dough packages that may instead contain peanut butter cup cookie dough. No illnesses have been reported to-date.

The food recall is limited to the Kroger brand Break ‘N Bake Chocolate Chip cookie dough having the following UPC and Use by date:

  • Kroger Break ‘N Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, 16 oz. packages
  • Unit UPC: 11110 87530
  • Use by: 24NOV13C21 

This product is sold in Kroger and the following retail stores; Dillons, Baker’s, Gerbes, Foods Co., Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Jay C, Owen’s, Pay Less, Scott’s, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s stores. 

Only 26 states had this product shipped to stores. The impacted states are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming. 

Kroger issued the following news release, “People who are allergic to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. For customers who are not allergic to peanuts, there is no safety issue with the product. There have been no illnesses reported to date in connection with this product.”

Customers can return the product to the store they purchased it from for a full refund. Some customers who purchased affected items may be notified by automated phone calls or register receipt messages. Recall notification signs are also being placed in stores.

  1. Our foods are not safe. Grow your own and eat seasonally from local markets. We better start demanding that the Congress does something about inspecting our food and drug manufacturers. I watched a You Tube about inspections and it sickened me. We’re getting worse than China and Mexico and India!!!!
