Folksville USA Needs Funding To Fight Litter

On February 13, 2010 many people including the Boy Scouts will be out on Scenic Highway 89A and Hwy 260. I need $400-$500 in pledges for the Cottonwood LDS Boy Scout Troop who embark on their second trip to recover and recycle litter. Read the attached story to see what they did. ADOT wasn’t required to lift a finger and I even received a itemized count of all contents from the Scouts which were eventually recycled.

If interested, please call me and discuss the details. I have opened a checking account with Wells Fargo to process all of my/our Folksville expenses through. If you recently donated to the Scouts or my direct overhead expenses (paper, copies, printer ink, etc) thanks. My direct expenses are $150 short so donations are appreciated.

We currently need $500 +/- to cover the Scouts 4 plus mile section. The Sedona Pines Resort is continuing to donate $5/bags for their 3 mile section to the Scouts for the entire year. The Sedona Pines Resort has another section on Highway 260 for them, time permitting This is a fund  raising activity for the Scouts. Imagine that, working for something and not just asking for money. This is no small adventure for the scouts and they provide valuable forensic for law enforcement to consider.

There is another 2 mile section that is only partially funded I/they need donations for the Scouts which would be part of the $500 requested.

Here’s how it works. The scouts get 10 cents per recyclable item, up to 80 cents per item max. They donate all recyclables recovered to Sedona Recycles and the remainder of unrecylable items goes to dumpsters provided by local businesses free of charge. The used litter bags get folded by the scouts and returned to me for reuse another day.

If you would like to donate to our/my general expense fund or the Scouts, please give me a call. I need to heaqr from someone by Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
