Burglary suspect Felbob arrested with handguns

Burglary suspect Felbob arrested with handguns

Sedona AZ (July 6, 2015) – In several prior media reports, unlocked vehicles have been targeted by burglars looking for an easy opportunity to steal valuables. In one incident, an unlocked vehicle contained two firearms which were stolen.

Consider this your tip of the day:  REMOVE VALUABLES FROM PARKED VEHICLES AND ALWAYS LOCK YOUR CAR EVEN IF PARKED IN YOUR DRIVEWAY OR OTHER FAMILIAR PLACE.

On July 2, 2015, just after 1:00 in the morning, YCSO deputies were dispatched to the 4300 block of Montezuma Way, Lake Montezuma, Arizona, regarding two vehicle burglaries. When one of the victims confronted a female suspect inside her parked vehicle, the suspect exited and walked away.

Both burglarized vehicles had been unlocked, and there was evidence of ransacking in the interior of one of the vehicles. Both victims provided a description of a suspect and, a short time later, YCSO deputies located the suspect on Montezuma Lake Drive near Third Fairway Drive, Rimrock, Arizona.

The suspect was identified as Kaylynn Ashley Felbob, 24, from Camp Verde, AZ. Felbob was in possession of a purse and backpack when deputies detained her. After the victims confirmed Felbob was the suspect seen burglarizing their vehicles, she was arrested. The victims could not immediately determine if anything was missing from their cars.

Yavapai County Map Area CommandsFelbob was extremely argumentative with deputies, denied any involvement in the burglaries, and could not understand why she was under arrest. During a search of the suspect’s property, deputies found a loaded revolver in a purse, a handgun in the backpack, and bank checks not in Felbob’s name. She had to be restrained and physically placed in the patrol vehicle pending booking.

Felbob was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Facility on charges including burglary and resisting arrest, and remains in custody on a $6500 bond.

Later that same day, YCSO deputies were dispatched to the 4600 block of North Montezuma Avenue, Rimrock. The victims reported two handguns had been stolen from their unlocked vehicle sometime during the early morning hours. The description of the missing handguns, purse and backpack matched all the property recovered from suspect Felbob arrested earlier that morning.

Deputies eventually confirmed ownership of the stolen items, including the bank checks, as those of the victims. While on scene, a neighbor stopped by and reported to YCSO that his unlocked vehicle had been burglarized and a small amount of cash taken sometime in the morning or during the prior evening.

YCSO deputies believe Felbob was involved in all the above cases and filed additional charges against her.
