AZ I-17 Lane Restrictions

Sedona AZ (April 2, 2012) – The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will repair highway safety guard rails on southbound Interstate 17 from Mile Posts 245 to 248, south of the Sunset Point Rest Area, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The work will require the southbound right lane to be closed during work hours to provide a safe work zone for maintenance crews.

In addition, on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 crews will repair damaged guard rails on northbound Arizona Interstate 17 from Mile Posts 245 to 247, north of Black Canyon City. The northbound left lane closure will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. with the speed limit through the work zones reduced to 45 mph during work hours.

Minimal delays are expected. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. Do not risk being fined for disobeying the law.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at AZ511.gov or call 5-1-1.
