The ACC is tasked with the responsibility to protect AZ ratepayers by weighing the costs and benefits of all state utility requests.

I received a lofty press release from the corrupt and incompetent Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) the other day (here: http://www.azcc.gov//Divisions/Administration/news/2016Releases/6-14-2016%20Code%20of%20Ethics.pdf  ). In an act of political desperation, the ACC is considering creating an ACC “Code of Ethics.” I about gagged. I think most of us would be satisfied if the ACC just followed state statutes for a change.

Clearly this is a lame attempt by the ACC Republican commissioners (none are of any other party) to whitewash the disgraceful shambles they’ve made of running the ACC over the last several years, and do so quickly before the upcoming election.

          I was going to write more on this subject but Laurie Roberts of the Arizona Republic newspaper beat me to it. Here are two articles she’s written. If you only read one, make sure it’s the second. You won’t believe it. Just hilarious. In trying to promote this ethics whitewash at a recent ACC meeting, ACC commissioner Tom Forese had to be warned by an ACC lawyer not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times (!) that he was breaking Arizona’s Open Meeting Law. In the final warning, the ACC lawyer had to threaten the entire commission with the violation in order to get scofflaw Forese to finally behave and shut up.
