As it is in Heaven scene

Sedona AZ (June 9, 2014) – A distinguished conductor survives a heart attack and retires to the small village of his difficult childhood in Northern Sweden. Neither he nor his ways are easily understood as he is asked to take charge of the the local church choir. The drama filled events that unfold result in people finding the courage to face their fears, to elevate and expand their lives through music, through singing, through relationship. All his life the world famous conductor longed to help people find their “voice,” and for the first time time in his life he succeeds in helping everyone in the village open in ways as delicate and beautiful as any flower.

Be prepared to laugh and cry a lot, and be hit deeply in places you didn’t know existed within. The film still is not widely known, even though it won the Oscar for best foreign film in 2004.

If you have 10 best films of your life, one will move out to make room for, As It Is In Heaven. It remains in my top five films of all time.

The film will be shown on the big screen at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road, west Sedona. Popcorn is available for snacking and the best Kombucha in Sedona, made by Scot Soller.

The four quadrants, states of consciousness, stages of growth, lines of development and individual typologies are studied with support and promotion of integral life practice. The discussions and study are grounded in the Developmental Psychology and Integral Philosophy of American philosopher Ken Wilber and meetings are open to anyone interested, and free.

This movie, by the way, was inspired by A Course in Miracles. The director is a Course in Miracles student and teacher in Sweden. The main character is modeled after one of the co-writers, who is another Course student who puts quotes from the Course to music. I’ve been in touch with the director, who explained to me some of the concepts and quotes from the Course that he worked into the movie. He is filming a sequel, in which the pastor undergoes a transformation. I’m sure the sequel is eagerly anticipated, as the original was The Titanic of Sweden.
