Joe Jaraczewski – Candidate for U.S. Congress – Arizona CD1 – Republican

SEDONA AZ— “There are two issues,” candidate for U.S. Congress AZ-CD1 Joe Jaraczewski said. “Number one being that Americans are now broke. We need to send a person to Washington who will limit the power that  a person in office can accumulate through term limits. Two, we must stop the flow of money that all the incumbents accumulate through a balanced budget amendment.” He adds, “When a country has $13 trillion in debt it is time to start changing the equation. Term limits have worked in Arizona and the state’s balanced budget amendment works also.  A federal spending freeze alone would save around $800 billion in just one year.”

Republican candidate Jaraczewski continued, “I think that what we have to do is start sending people to Washington who can say no to special interests, not people who are willing to say yes to everyone.  We need to send a father of five who isn’t afraid to say no to anyone. Arizona hasn’t been on the forefront of the conservative movement since Barry Goldwater. With SB1070, you are seeing a move toward that, a group who will put together a platform to limit the size and scope of the federal government.”

Congressional CD1 candidate Jaraczewski sees limitations on the federal government as the overriding issue with meaningful Tenth amendment reforms so actions like SB1070 can work.  He believes that the federal government needs to go back to the original intention of our founding fathers and that it is important to provide a clear contrast. “The Democratic side is obviously about more government,” stating that he believes in reduction of government.

To create and maintain jobs, CD1 Congressional candidate Joe Jaraczewski wants to keep the Bush tax cuts. He suggests a one year hiatus in the payroll tax for small business saying “A one year fifty percent (50%) reduction would help business to hire more people.”

With regard to the wars, Jaraczewski said, “I don’t think we can predetermine dates on the end of the conflict. I am in favor of bringing it to a closure but not at a predetermined date. We have to leave when the region is stabilized. We have seen in history, going back to World War II, we can stabilize the region in the long run.”

Republican Joe Jaraczewski supports drilling in Alaska if the states and local governments agree to it. He stated that Alaska and Montana have enough oil for a thirty year supply but he believes that states should have final say in land-use decisions within their borders. CD1 Congressional candidate Jaraczewski would like to see Arizona expand its energy resources with solar, nuclear and biomass.
