2012 Grant Funding Opportunity

Sedona AZ (February 9, 2012) — The Yavapai County Community Foundation announces the availability of grant funding for 2012 and representatives of local nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities are invited to apply.

Last year, YCCF awarded more than $180,000 to 30 Yavapai County community organizations. Grant funding may be awarded in interest areas including youth programs, social services, healthcare, eye care, music and art, the environment, law enforcement canines, as well as the unrestricted community fund.

YCCF awards grants from a variety of its endowed charitable funds every year, some of which were established and continue to be supported by local donors for the common good and others for special purposes. YCCF accepts funding requests from qualified nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities in amounts ranging from $500 to $20,000.

The grant application is available online beginning Thursday, February 9, 2012 at www.azfoundation.org/grants. Applications must be submitted by noon on Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Grant applicants who were unable to attend the grant workshops in early February may access the PowerPoint presentation at www.yavapaifoundation.org.

Grant applicants must have an updated online profile at www.azfoundation.org and be a designated 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, or qualify as a public school, municipality or Tribe.  Organizations that have received YCCF grant funding in 2010 or earlier must confirm that their final reports have been received by YCCF and the Arizona Community Foundation in order to be eligible for future funding.  Grant applicants must provide services within Yavapai County geographic boundaries.

Sedona agencies that submit proposals for funding to YCCF must use the funding to benefit residents of Yavapai County outside of Sedona city limits (as defined by the Sedona Fire District).

For more information, contact grants and operations coordinator Tracey McConnell at tmcconnell@azfoundation.org or 928- 499-9795.
