Sedona City Council’s Communications Priority Update

On September 29, 2010, Sedona City Council held a work session to discuss steps being taken to achieve their Public Communication, Outreach, and Education priority.  Based on the discussion, the City is planning on implementing video web streaming of the Council meetings in spring 2011.  In addition, the City will be looking at contracting with an outside source to record Council meetings.

Council is interested in web surveys that can provide feedback and the possibility of conducting a comprehensive citizens survey every 2 years.  All these new initiatives will be brought back to Council with associated costs in upcoming meetings.

Communications initiatives currently in progress include the quarterly Neighborhood Listenings, with the first one held on September 22, and the Citizens Academy, which will be launched in the spring.  On October 4, Council and members of city staff participated in Media Relations Training.
