Yom Hazikron-Israel Memorial Day Observance

star of davidSedona AZ (March 18, 2010) – Yom Hazikron-Israel Memorial Day Observance at the Campus is planned for Monday, April 19, 2010, at 7:00 in the evening advises Rabbi Alicia Magal of the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley, Sedona.

“This is a Memorial Day for all Israeli soldiers who gave their lives to protect the State of Israel. The ceremony also honors the memory of victims of terror from the ongoing unrest in Israel. The evening includes presentations, songs of remembrance, a memorial service, and the sounding of a one-minute siren. In addition, there will be an exhibition honoring Israeli Fallen soldiers who have a connection to local community members,” the Rabbi explained.

All events, except for Sunday, April 11, 2010, take place at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, 12701 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. All events are free, except where noted.

The observance is sponsored by the Bureau of Jewish Education, Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, Phoenix Holocaust Survivors’ Association, The Israel Center, and the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center.
