Sedona AZ (July 18, 2013)On Wednesday July 10, 2013, Supervisor A.G. “Chip” Davis presented the Unsung Hero award to Sharon Tom. Sharon was nominated by Deidre Tilly with Abia Judd.

Sharon has volunteered at Abia Judd Elementary School, Prescott, Arizona, for 4 years with the Third Grade. She says that she enjoys helping the classes because the 8 and 9 year olds keep her on her toes. She delights in seeing each child come into their own throughout the year.

Sharon’s versatility, energy and heart of gold extend well beyond volunteering with Abia Judd school. You will find her volunteering for the Veterans Administration long term care facility recreation department, at the Chino Valley Foundation for Seniors as coordinator and hostess, and knitting donations to organizations throughout the Prescott area.

She also serves on the governing council of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and is its director of hospitality. She has served with Women of the Harvest in Turkey and Ghana working with various Christian missionaries.

Sharon’s quiet and selfless work has not gone unnoticed.

On behalf of the Arizona communities you serve, we thank you for the many kindnesses, hard work and generosity and for your personal commitment to global outreach.

The radio show was simultaneously video taped by the Yavapai Broadcasting Company and is available for viewing at VerdeValleyTV.com.
