Yavapai County Honors Unsung Heroes

Lonnie and Valerie Rogers receive Unsung Heroes award flanked by Supervisor Davis, Eric Stanford and Billy Crawford

Sedona AZ (February 24, 2011)-Love is in the air this beautiful February in Yavapai County, a love for couples who volunteer! For this special Unsung Heroes of the Month award, the volunteers near and dear to our hearts are Lonnie and Valerie Rogers, nominated by Eric Stanford and Billy Crawford at the American Legion.

For the past eleven years, Lonnie and Valerie have put in 1,000-1,200 hours a year worth of volunteer work for the American Legion, Post 25, Cottonwood Arizona. The Rogers’ lend a hand with a variety of tasks from helping in the kitchen to decorating for Legion events.

Lonnie and Valerie Rogers received an Unsung Hero plaque on the morning of February 23 on Yavapai Broadcasting Company’s “Mark in the Morning show” presented by Yavapai County Supervisor A. G. “Chip” Davis.

Each winner will be asked to select a song to be played on Yavapai Broadcasting’s Mark in the Morning show, will receive a certificate and an article in the SedonaEye.com.
