wild in the citySedona AZ (January 14, 2016)The Arizona Elk Society (AES) announces the upcoming Wild In The City Youth Activity Day on February 13, 2016. Wild In The City will be hosted at the Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant, 41402 North 87th Avenue, Peoria, Arizona.

Wild in the City is the newest AES youth program, the event launched in 2010 at the request of the Arizona Girls Scouts Council to offer an introduction to Arizona outdoor activities and skills.

We invite youth of all skill levels, ages 6-16 years old, including scouts and troops to join us. Event registration begins at 8:30 in the morning, activities begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m., with a break for lunch. Registration is $15 per participant and the fee includes all activities, an event tee shirt plus lunch. Event space is limited to 72 participants, AES recommends registering early to reserve space for your child.

AESWild In The City is a one-day program which offers an introduction to the following basic outdoor skills:

  • Archery
  • Survival/First Aid
  • Wildlife Identification
  • Survival Bracelets
  • Wildlife Calling
  • Gold Panning
  • Fly Fishing, Hands of Fishing, and much more.

Established in 2001, the Arizona Elk Society (AES) is an Arizona non-profit organization to benefit elk and other wildlife in Arizona through habitat conservation and restoration. The organization works with government agencies and other organizations to provide their services. It prides itself in providing “hands on” support that conserves and enhances wildlife habitat in Arizona. It further promotes our hunting heritage for present and future generations through special youth education programs regarding conservation, hunting and outdoor activities.
