Sedona AZ (May 28, 2011) – This message brought to you by Gary Chamberlain, in support of the Oak Creek Watershed Clean Up and Folksville USA Scenic Highway 89A Litter Lifters:
It’s time to get tough on litterers, Arizonans!
Politicians, wake up!
This is the anti litter law in West Virginia, a state that values its scenic beauty after being ravaged in earlier decades by coal mining, including many open pit mines.
It is time to get tough on those who litter. They are destroying our beautiful desert and mountains. We must preserve and protect our fragile Arizona ecosystems that were never designed for overuse or abuse by careless visitors and residents.
Do your part! Pick up trash in your community and along the highways. Join a local litter lifter group. Educate others about the need to dispose of trash properly. Ask your schools and churches and clubs to get involved. It’s everyone’s civic responsibility!
Remember, when camping or hiking in Arizona that which you pack in must be packed out. Leave no trace! Keep a garbage bag in your vehicle at all times.
The beauty of America and Arizona are your responsibility.
