Verde Valley Museums Offer Holiday Shopping

Sedona Heritage Museum

Sedona AZ (November 11, 2017)The Verde Valley is home to a treasure trove of cultural heritage sites and museums, many with Gift Shops offering unique items for the upcoming holiday season – gifts you may not find elsewhere. In the spirit of the season, shopping at museums and cultural sites will give much needed support to worthy local non-profit organizations.

You will find Christmas and Chanukah gifts for everyone on your holiday list in an uncrowded, unharried environment. Don’t forget Thanksgiving host and hostess gifts and extra special birthdays! Or those “just because you’re special” presents! And every gift is tax free!

The Sedona Heritage Museum has local history books, items made by local artists and movies made in Sedona. Browse jewelry, knives, things for kids, soaps, ornaments, art, and all types of gift choices. Museum hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily at 735 Jordan Road, Sedona. Cottonwood’s Clemenceau Heritage Museum offers its 2018 Calendar of Historic Verde Valley Cemeteries, “Images of Cottonwood” historic photo book, handmade items, and tee shirts with museum and local railroad logos. Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum features local books by local authors. Hours are Wednesday through Monday each week from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 900 North First Street, Clarkdale. For details, call 928-649-1198.

The Camp Verde Historical Society Museum has many local history books, greeting cards, ornaments, and other gift items. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – except Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – at 435 South Main Street, Camp Verde. For information, call 928-567-9560.

Fort Verde State Historic Park has a variety of historical books and items relevant to the history of the fort. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily at 125 East Hollamon, Camp Verde. For details, call 928-567-3275.

At the Jerome State Historic Park, you’ll find mineral samples, copper gift items, and local history books. Open daily 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at 100 Douglas Road, Jerome. For details, call 928-634-5381.

Montezuma Castle

The Western National Parks Association (WNPA) bookstore at Montezuma Castle National Monument offers an extensive selection of books, collectibles, games, and Native American crafts. Hours are daily 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  at 2800 North Montezuma Castle Highway, Camp Verde. For details, call 928-567-3322 extension 225.

The WNPA bookstore at Tuzigoot National Monument also offers a long list of books, education and exploratory items for kids and adults, and now handmade baskets by the Tohono O’odham as well as Native American jewelry and pottery. Verde Valley museums offer shoppers the opportunity to explore an eclectic selection of items that often can’t be found at other retail stores. Admission fees are not charged when just shopping, and you will help provide much needed income to local non-profit organizations.
