And where are those that say voting doesn’t make a difference? The Arizona Republic was delayed this morning. Maybe those in charge didn’t enjoy the taste of crow. A new twist on politically correct?

Of particular interest – results for Bob Thorpe and Sylvia Allen. Please, please – let it happen:-).

Your efforts to tarnish the Tea Party have failed miserably. America has turned to the right and disavowed the corruption of the progressive left. Not only did Trump crush the Clinton Crime Family, but he acquired a majority in the House and Senate and will dictate the make-up of the Supreme Court for 20 years to come. Meanwhile, the financial markets that were supposed to crash this morning are flourishing while war with the Russians and Chinese has been averted. And last, but certainly not least, the main stream media has now been fully discredited while alt-news is now the trusted source of news. Suck it up hecklers…you’re done!

Actually Trump isnt a Tea Party guy ….He made you idiots look like fools and show your true colors…… He marches to his own beat …..not your BS Tea Party ideology……We shall see……Btw. I thought you said you weren’t aTea Party guy?

  4. J. Rick Normand says:

    @Wsr,

You are correct in that I did emphatically say I wasn’t a Tea Party guy. I am not and never have been. They did invite my allegiance, but, I turned them down since I am a registered Independent and prefer to hold my middle ground. Nevertheless, since you seem to revel in putting down the Tea Party, I thought I should remind you that they now are in control of your fate although DJT is not one of them either. He did, however, enjoy their support. Finally, it’s not a matter of “we” shall see but, rather, it’s now a matter of “you” shall see. Everyone in the country who isn’t a misguided progressive liberal sees clearly that America is turning to the right and that won’t change in what time you have left on this earth.

    @All Readers at The Eye,

For a year and a half now, the MSM and the hecklers at this site have trumpeted that a Trump election would spell economic disaster, war overseas, disdain from all foreign heads of state, a revolution here, etc. , etc., etc. At this moment, Putin has just spoken and said he’s willing to restore normal relations with the U.S., the stock market is exuberant, heads of state are publicly recalculating their downside expectations, except for a few MoveOn.org planned street disturbances our cities are calm and Trump and Obama have met for the first time and adjourned their meeting arm-in-arm! Let this chain of events tell you all just how reliable the hecklers at this site are who have never addressed an academic issue but only indulged in personal attacks on the writers here. Lastly, you can bet that all the heckling naysayers at this site are disillusioned progressive liberals who actually thought they could change thinking people’s minds.

How dare you riot! How dare you!

Veterans Day is today and men and women were murdered, killed, emotionally and physically destroyed for your ability to cast a ballot and express your opinion. This comment is an example of that right. How dare you riot in our streets for your opinions. Run for office, become part of the process. How dare you riot!

And to all the media that incites and covers and encourages this behavior because IT failed and continues to fail to do ITS job, a job to be the nation’s fair and impartial advocate of facts and to give voice to opinions and facts irregardless whether IT finds them palpable or intelligent or of ITS editorial mindset, shut up and stand up.

Now pull on your big girl pants and pull on your big boy pants and accept the outcome of a hard fought campaign, and TOGETHER fix the problems and issues of this great nation.

You may not promote diversity and not accept it.

  16. Jan Jones says:

Hillary’s words, after accepting the loss of the nomination, which reflect poise and refinement.

If you haven’t read Hillary’s comments after she conceded, it’s another must read:

Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans.

This is not the outcome we wanted or we worked so hard for, and I’m sorry we did not win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country.

But I feel pride and gratitude for this wonderful campaign that we built together –- this vast, diverse, creative, unruly, energized campaign. You represent the best of America, and being your candidate has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

I know how disappointed you feel, because I feel it too. And so do tens of millions of Americans who invested their hopes and dreams in this effort. This is painful, and it will be for a long time. But I want you to remember this: Our campaign was never about one person or even one election. It was about the country we love — and about building an America that’s hopeful, inclusive, and big-hearted.

We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought. But I still believe in America –- and I always will. And if you do, too, then we must accept this result -– and then look to the future.

Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.

Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power, and we don’t just respect that, we cherish it. It also enshrines other things –- the rule of law, the principle that we’re all equal in rights and dignity, and the freedom of worship and expression. We respect and cherish these things too — and we must defend them.

And let me add: Our constitutional democracy demands our participation, not just every four years, but all the time. So let’s do all we can to keep advancing the causes and values we all hold dear: making our economy work for everyone, not just those at the top; protecting our country and protecting our planet; and breaking down all the barriers that hold anyone back from achieving their dreams.

We’ve spent a year and a half bringing together millions of people from every corner of our country to say with one voice that we believe that the American Dream is big enough for everyone — for people of all races and religions, for men and women, for immigrants, for LGBT people, and people with disabilities.

Our responsibility as citizens is to keep doing our part to build that better, stronger, fairer America we seek. And I know you will.

I am so grateful to stand with all of you.

I want to thank Tim Kaine and Anne Holton for being our partners on this journey. It gives me great hope and comfort to know that Tim will remain on the front-lines of our democracy, representing Virginia in the Senate.

To Barack and Michelle Obama: Our country owes you an enormous debt of gratitude for your graceful, determined leadership, and so do I.

To Bill, Chelsea, Marc, Charlotte, Aidan, our brothers, and our entire family, my love for you means more than I can ever express.

You crisscrossed this country on my behalf and lifted me up when I needed it most –- even four-month old Aidan traveling with his mom.

I will always be grateful to the creative, talented, dedicated men and women at our headquarters in Brooklyn and across our country who poured their hearts into this campaign. For you veterans, this was a campaign after a campaign — for some of you, this was your first campaign ever. I want each of you to know that you were the best campaign anyone has had.

To all the volunteers, community leaders, activists, and union organizers who knocked on doors, talked to neighbors, posted on Facebook – even in secret or in private: Thank you.

To everyone who sent in contributions as small as $5 and kept us going, thank you.

And to all the young people in particular, I want you to hear this. I’ve spent my entire adult life fighting for what I believe in. I’ve had successes and I’ve had setbacks -– sometimes really painful ones. Many of you are at the beginning of your careers. You will have successes and setbacks, too.

This loss hurts. But please, please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it. It’s always worth it. And we need you keep up these fights now and for the rest of your lives.

To all the women, and especially the young women, who put their faith in this campaign and in me, I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion.

I know that we still have not shattered that highest glass ceiling. But some day someone will -– hopefully sooner than we might think right now.

And to all the little girls watching right now, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world.

Finally, I am grateful to our country for all it has given me.

I count my blessings every day that I am an American. And I still believe, as deeply as I ever have, that if we stand together and work together, with respect for our differences, strength in our convictions, and love for this nation -– our best days are still ahead of us.

You know I believe we are stronger together and will go forward together. And you should never be sorry that you fought for that.

Scripture tells us: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.”

My friends, let us have faith in each other. Let us not grow weary. Let us not lose heart. For there are more seasons to come and there is more work to do.

I am incredibly honored and grateful to have had this chance to represent all of you in this consequential election. May God bless you and god bless the United States of America.

  17. Eddie Maddock says:

How about sitting down, taking a deep breath, and reflecting favorably that this most mud-slinging election has come to a conclusion. The people have spoken.

Sure – either result there was destined to be disappointment. However, the American way – majority decides – has been loudly resonated. Clearly it appears the polls were skewed (so it seems) which quite possibly caused the flipped coin to unexpectedly create the outcome which caused those responsible to become their own worst enemies. Manipulation doesn’t always work. The masses have spoken for change.

Both President Obama and President Elect Trump have come to an intelligent meeting of the minds. It’s time for the rioting Millennials to wake up and learn the lesson they are no longer being taught in school. The American way has been from the start and will continue at this point in time to function as a Democracy.

Grow up, Babies, and when jobs are once again more plentiful go get one and find out there is pride in legitimately earning your own way and leave entitlements to those that truly deserve them. Today you should be honoring those Veteran’s that served to fight for your right to, yes, protest. But also the right and opportunity to stand on your own to feet in other ways, such as making an honest living.

    My opinion.

  19. The Thought Proctologist says:

    @Wsr and WSR,

In my diagnosis of you, I clearly said you were a pathological liar. Thus, there’s about as much chance that you voted for Donald Trump as there was that I voted for butt-hurt Hillary. You’re a progressive liberal, socialist, communist and lying is part of your strategy learned from Saul Alinsky, not to mention Qur’an 3:28.

  20. J. Rick Normand says:

    @Jan Jones,

It seems that you may not be aware of the fact, as reported by her nearest confidants that were with her when she realized that she had lost, that Hillary CRIED uncontrollably for an hour and a half and mumbled bawling words that not even those in attendance could understand. This fact raises this question:

If Hillary had been elected President, and a day came when the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Secretary of State, all together, rushed into the Oval Office to inform her that Russian nuclear-tipped missiles were inbound to strike most of our country’s major cities and defense systems within thirty five minutes and that they needed her final orders, would she have dismissed them from the Oval Office until after she could have a good cry? Do you get my point?

She proved at the moment she broke down election night, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to be too emotionally unstable to manage the job of President!

  21. Jo Ellen B. says:

So what do you suppose would happen to the little attention getting protesters if the national media ignored them and didn’t sensationalize their behavior? How long would it take them to pack up their ugly banners and run home to Mommy & Daddy for them to wipe their butts?

Pull the plug on media overkill and wouldn’t it be something like throwing a party and no one showing up?

  22. Why We Grieve Today says:

    Here’s Why We Grieve Today
    NOVEMBER 9, 2016 / JOHN PAVLOVITZ

I don’t think you understand us right now.

I think you think this is about politics.

I think you believe this is all just sour grapes; the crocodile tears of the losing locker room with the scoreboard going against us at the buzzer.

I can only tell you that you’re wrong. This is not about losing an election. This isn’t about not winning a contest. This is about two very different ways of seeing the world.

Hillary supporters believe in a diverse America; one where religion or skin color or sexual orientation or place of birth aren’t liabilities or deficiencies or moral defects. Her campaign was one of inclusion and connection and interdependency. It was about building bridges and breaking ceilings. It was about going high.

Trump supporters believe in a very selective America; one that is largely white and straight and Christian, and the voting verified this. Donald Trump has never made any assertions otherwise. He ran a campaign of fear and exclusion and isolation—and that’s the vision of the world those who voted for him have endorsed.

They have aligned with the wall-builder and the professed p*ssy-grabber, and they have co-signed his body of work, regardless of the reasons they give for their vote:

Every horrible thing Donald Trump ever said about women or Muslims or people of color has now been validated.
Every profanity-laced press conference and every call to bully protestors and every ignorant diatribe has been endorsed.
Every piece of anti-LGBTQ legislation Mike Pence has championed has been signed-off on.

Half of our country has declared these things acceptable, noble, American.

This is the disconnect and the source of our grief today. It isn’t a political defeat that we’re lamenting, it’s a defeat for Humanity.

We’re not angry that our candidate lost. We’re angry because our candidate’s losing means this country will be less safe, less kind, and less available to a huge segment of its population, and that’s just the truth.

Those who have always felt vulnerable are now left more so. Those whose voices have been silenced will be further quieted. Those who always felt marginalized will be pushed further to the periphery. Those who feared they were seen as inferior now have confirmation in actual percentages.

Those things have essentially been campaign promises of Donald Trump, and so many of our fellow citizens have said this is what they want too.

This has never been about politics.
This is not about one candidate over the other.
    It’s not about one’s ideas over another’s.
It is not blue vs. red.
It’s not her emails vs. his bad language.
It’s not her dishonesty vs. his indecency.

It’s about overt racism and hostility toward minorities.
    It’s about religion being weaponized.
It’s about crassness and vulgarity and disregard for women.
It’s about a barricaded, militarized, bully nation.
It’s about an unapologetic, open-faced ugliness.

And it is not only that these things have been ratified by our nation that grieve us; all this hatred, fear, racism, bigotry, and intolerance—it’s knowing that these things have been amen-ed by our neighbors, our families, our friends, those we work with and worship alongside. That is the most horrific thing of all. We now know how close this is.

It feels like living in enemy territory being here now, and there’s no way around that. We wake up today in a home we no longer recognize. We are grieving the loss of a place we used to love but no longer do. This may be America today but it is not the America we believe in or recognize or want.

This is not about a difference of political opinion, as that’s far too small to mourn over. It’s about a fundamental difference in how we view the worth of all people—not just those who look or talk or think or vote the way we do.

Grief always laments what might have been, the future we were robbed of, the tomorrow that we won’t get to see, and that is what we walk through today. As a nation we had an opportunity to affirm the beauty of our diversity this day, to choose ideas over sound bytes, to let everyone know they had a place at the table, to be the beacon of goodness and decency we imagine that we are—and we said no.

The Scriptures say that weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning. We can’t see that dawn coming any time soon.

And this is why we grieve

  23. Why We Rejoice Today says:

In a nutshell, those of us rejoicing that Donald Trump was elected over Hillary Clinton do so because, although we may not have cared all that much about either candidate, we feel he was the only chance to maintain our democratic society and not fall victims to communism.

Of the number of things listed by the beautifully written comment from Why We Grieve Today, Hillary Clinton’s exposed activities during the time she served as Secretary of State, the lies she blatantly repeated, the questionable funding of her billion dollar campaign fund, and the internal operation of the Clinton Foundation were not included. And yet dirty words spoken in a private conversation, most of which we have all heard, were made center of attention to serve as a diversion from the truly serious and important issues that ultimately served as the downfall of Mrs. Clinton.

Quite possibly the most logical solution for those with the mind-set of Why We Grieve Today is to pack up and leave the United States of America with the likes of the rich and famous Hollywood crowd, those who vowed to do just that in the event Donald Trump became President of the United States. Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, even Cher vowed to move to another planet – Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Rosie O’Donnell, George Clooney, and others whose money and endorsement of Hillary Clinton did not phase the common souls out here that have been starving for a change of pace to give us hope for a better future.

You see – there are other solutions instead of grieving for the next four or eight years, being miserable, crying over what you perceive might have been. You could grow up, face reality, and show respect for the will of the common people – those that Donald Trump managed to communicate with and express compassion, something of which Mrs. Clinton remains clueless. Coming together would be a more productive approach instead of hanging your hat on an unrealistic evaluation of theories, most or none of which have merit over and above self proclaimed non-existent images.

If Why We Grieve Today’s evaluation includes compassion and justification for the non-peaceful riots exhibited by the ill informed future generation, then that might be a justified reason to grieve. The activity is deplorable. And before you preach to the choir again, how about freeing your own house of prejudice, false claims, and despicable behavior prior to casting stones at those of us who do, indeed, have equal rights as proven by the result of the election.

“Love conquers all.” Perhaps. But perhaps not in our lifetimes.

So, yes, focus on the good. But let us not close our eyes or our souls to the suffering we have just let loose upon our fellow men.

    New chant for America
It seems the new chant for America is I want my middle class!
The other chant is I want my Wal-Mart.
Well Wal-Mart helped kill the middle class.

Americans want of STUFF at lower and lower prices has had driven American manufacturing overseas, notice the word Driven, we did it to our self’s.

We want cheep TVs, throw a way clothing, and ever-cheaper camping gear.
We forced our manufactures to move to the emerging third world countries with the same working conditions and pay that was prevalent in America in 1900, wages and working conditions we would never be allowed now by our own government, not even Trumps government.

As the saying goes “You get what you pay for.

Now the people in the mid-west/rust belt what the Middle Class brought back
They do not want to move, Trump will just bring it to them he said so!

Trump will gets rid of big government and all the pesky regulation that gets in the way of free enterprise, the good old days when business came first and people second.

Trumps new followers do not want to move, they do not want to learn new skills they just want t the jobs back, back to the old building on the out skirts of town, next to the corn fields, well that ship has sailed and it sailed to China a long time ago.

The coastal cities are doing better, (Blue states) they attract the people that are willing to move, take risks, and learn new skills and leave family and friends behind.

In retail there is an old saying LOCATION, location, Location.
Well in life location counts, you need to ply your skills where they are needed not where you think they are needed or where you want to live.

This last election was not about party politics it was about people in the mid west wanting a new government to bring back the jobs.

What I find interesting are as a life longs Democrats I never expected government to make my life better, I expected my government to help other people get a foot up and make their life better, and keep big business in line.

Let’s look at what just happened, old mid-west democrats voted for the party of self-reliance, the party of small government, the party of big business, the same business the took all the jobs to China.

Well good luck with that, the only way it will get better is to make it happen on your own, Trump is not going to bring back jobs or the $20.00 hr., starting salary.

There is and old saying, you get the government you deserve, so I guess we had Trump coming .

In my past life I helped entrepreneur open retail stores, if found the ones that open the shops closest to there homes because it was convenient did not do as well as the smart business peoples that put there shops where MORE people lived, and drove a little e further, Location Location Location, really very simple in life and business.

This election was between Cornfields and big cities and a place to work.

In the 1950 I lived in Burbank Ca. in a middle class neighborhood, we had an one car one TV, the house had 1,200 SF. two bed rooms and one and ½ bath ranch house and three kids.
We kept our “Wants in line with our Needs.” If we needed more we worked harder.

    You just didn’t get it.
Hopefully time will calm Your hostility.

  28. Susan says:

Really dumb ss look up irs codes. Our government pays off shore manufacturing. Say what? ???? Crazy (deleted by editor) you have the taxpayers pay for your business ads. You are not truthful.

  29. Enough says:

The election is over so grow up and accept it. All the ranting and idiotic arguments against that FACT will not change the outcome. Sore losers – pathetic.

    @All Readers at The Eye:

    In my comment above to Jan Jones, I will now add this quoted from several press sites;

Hillary Became “Physically Violent” After She Realized She Had Lost the Election. Clinton had to be “briefly restrained” after trying to attack her own campaign staff!

This incident happened before she broke down into a crying fit for an hour and a half. Didn’t she state that “Donald Trump can’t be trusted with his fingers on the nuclear codes”? Now we know why Vladimir Putin was preparing his nation for WWIII in the event that Hillary won the election.

    P.S.@ John Daniels,

No, it means I’ll likely be taking a post in your house!

This is what really scares me
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/…/d2ddf2bc-4932-11e6-90a8-fb…
Trump’s desk is piled high with magazines, nearly all of them with himself on their covers, and each morning, he reviews a pile of printouts of news articles about himself
When a decision point gets to the presidents desk it’s because someone lower down could not make the decision, usually because of conflicting policies.
Trump MUST know all the policies and laws governing the subject, It is called doing your home work. It is not about being a” Great businessperson” or having “Great common sense” it is about understanding policies
And what the long term effects they will have.
Spreadsheets are the tool of business people. Position papers are the tools of leaders.
This is the first glimpse at just how unprepared Trump is for the leader of the free world, he will screw up America, thats a given. Why should we let him harm the rest of the world ,after all they did not vote for him. Let’s all keep in mind the great business man that he claims to be, he went bankrupt 6 times. ss
    Politics
Donald Trump doesn’t read much. Being president probably wouldn’t change that.

  32. @Steve segner says:

humm your are worst than trump. You dictate and act like Hilter. Claiming thngs that are false. By stealing taxpayers money to pay for your ads you have reversed all positive growth in the region. Go be a cry baby somewhere else SS we don’t like you and you have hurt the residents as you are a greedy greedy person IOO (in our opinions)

Great businesses and great people don’t use any taxpayer’s money to pay for anything but what it is intended for health welfare and safety.

  33. @@Steve Segner says:

What? You, who just made front page headlines, photo and all, in the Sedona Red Rock News for admitting to having been scammed by APS. (Incidentally that stands for Arizona Public Service).

Ongoing scams, including the APS incident, have been widely published. If you are the intellectual you claim to be, you would have known that and shared it with your kindred spirits that obviously wouldn’t include brilliant minds like Donald Trump. Please . . . . keep us informed at what period in time you will run for President of the USA and straightened out the mess the previous 8 years created. OMG.

  34. T. Brown says:

Ask Bill Maher why Democrats lost. He’s got it right. Political correctness and dishonesty.

  35. steve Segner says:

Thanks , I will let you know when I run, I called the paper, I called the police and I call TV stations, because, hotels and local business we scammed the next day 9 know of. so I guess the word was not out.
You (no name given) would have kept quiet because that is the kind of person you are correct. you do not even use you name for a local post … all guts
