AZ-1 Republican Andy Tobin gets majority of votes in his Primary race and will run for reelection in November

Sedona AZ (August 27, 2010) – The bulk of the ballots have been counted in the Republican Primary Election and Andy Tobin was a clear winner, the top vote-getter in his race. Representative Tobin appreciates every vote and would like to share his “post-Primary” thoughts below:

“I am honored that the voters of District 1 have reviewed my record and my work ethic.  They have decided that I should continue my work to bring jobs to Arizona, get our economic crisis on the right track, protect our rivers and serve in the best interest of District 1, rural communities and all our citizens of Arizona. I especially thank the voters for their confidence.

I am thrilled that Karen Fann will be my running mate in the general election. Karen is a proven leader and well experienced to “hit the ground running” and support our rural Arizona values. I look forward to working with her and Governor Brewer to solve Arizona’s economic crisis and create jobs.

I wish to congratulate all candidates who have worked so hard during this primary season. It’s not easy to put yourself out in front of the public and fight for your beliefs, it takes great courage.  You and your campaigns should be proud of your work, and of your participation in America’s greatest tool for democracy, elections.

I thank my wife Jennifer and my children, Michael, Chris, Meagan, Kelly and Laura for all their help and understanding.  The sacrifices they make for me to do my work in service to our great state is tremendous. I love you all very much. I thank my business partner Frank LeClaire and his wife Annie for carrying the load for me at our business while I am in the legislature. I could not possibly serve without their support and love. I thank my campaign committee and all my volunteers, especially Darlene and Don Packard, Allison and Mike Flannery, Karen Dusman, Amy Jordan, Michael Weitsman and Susan Cohen, who managed a professional and expansive campaign in such a large district.

It is now time to move on to the general election and once again debate the issues of the day … and work to make America and Arizona a better place for our children and future generations to live and be free. The differences in philosophy will be significant from my opponent, I support 1070, I support the marriage Amendment, I oppose Obamacare, I believe our taxes are too high. I look forward to emphasizing all the differences and working hard to earn the voters support in the general election.”
