To Keep or Not to Keep on Community Clean Up Day

community cleanSedona AZ (April 7, 2016) – The Yavapai County Public Works Solid Waste Department is joining with the City of Cottonwood and the Town of Clarkdale in hosting a Community Clean-Up Day on April 23, 2016 for all Verde Valley residents.

The Clean-Up day will be:

April 23, 2016

1142 West Mingus Avenue, just past the Cottonwood airport – behind the fire training center, follow signs from Mingus Ave & 89A

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ONLY, WILL BE ACCEPTED:

No charge for: Bagged Trash, Household appliances (must never have contained a refrigerant), Furniture, Yard Trimmings (All lumber and brush must be 4 foot in length or less), and Electronics.

Charges will apply to the following items:

Mattress $10 / Box Springs $5
Tires – Nothing larger than Semi will be accepted

Tire fees:      $.50 un-rimmed passenger
$2.00 rimmed passenger
$8.00 semi tires

Large CRT televisions and computer monitors $6.00 (Flat Screens are Free)

THESE ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED:

Loose Trash, Hazardous Materials, Junk cars, Dead Animals, Ammunition, Fireworks, Explosive Materials, Home Generated medical waste, and other items not listed as acceptable on the website.

NO COMMERCIAL DUMPING

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE PROGRAM YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF COTTONWOOD AND/OR A RESIDENT WITHIN AN UNINCORPORATED AREA OF YAVAPAI COUNTY.

A DRIVERS LICENSE OR UTILITY BILL WITH ADDRESS WILL BE REQUIRED.

ACCEPTED HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE THAT WILL BE FREE.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, SPACE WILL BE LIMITED.

THE FOLLOWING HAZARDOUS ITEMS WILL BE ACCEPTED:

Batteries, Light bulb, Computer Equipment, Household Cleaners, Pesticides, Pool Chemicals, Propane Tanks, Motor Oil, Paints/stains/Varnishes/Solvents/Thinners, Adhesives, and Prescription Drugs.

None of the items above will be acceptable from a commercial vendor, no more than 10 gallons of any single product from an individual user.
