Sedona AZ (March 13, 2012) – Construction is continuing on the State Route 89A roadway and safety improvement project in the City of Sedona reports the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Construction is continuing on the State Route 89A roadway and safety improvement project in Sedona, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The project includes:
– repaving more than three miles of the roadway from Arroyo Piñon Drive to just west of SR 179 – a new traffic signal at Andante Drive – roadway lighting from Dry Creek Road to Airport Road.
Lane restrictions will be in place from Dry Creek Road to just past Shelby Road from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week of March 12. The lane restrictions will provide a safe work zone for crews as they install underground electrical conduit for the new lights. All restrictions will be removed at the end of each day.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. For more information about this project, please contact Senior Community Relations Officer Mackenzie Kirby at 928.779.7554 or mkirby@azdot.gov.
Terrible traffic control! Our normal 30 minute roundtrip to Sedona took over an Hour yesterday. Caused by people driving ss far ahead after merge left sign so rest of traffic came to complete stop! Terrible system and no oversight. · Like
